Samsung 204b white screen after replacing capacitors

change the inverter if it does not work ,you will have to change the backlight bulbs or you change the screen

This is a common problem with the Samsung 204B units that have been in service for a few years. Parts called capacitors in the power supply start failing and causing the board to not start correctly. The blinking power button is just the power supply restarting over and over. The monitor is easily repairable, you just need to replace the 5 capacitors that have failed. jose54tony, Schematics would only be available from Samsung. Rarely do they let them out of there tight grip!! You may need to look at the smps board and inverter board to find bad transistors that may have also died (muerto) when the electrolytic filter capacitors failed. 12fixlouie

Replace the screen with a known working one. If it shows display then it is the screen which is broken, if not, then it could be the port on which it is connected.

this is very frecuent in all monitors or tv's lcd .... turn on 3 seconds and off the capacitors need to be replaced y sugest a technician

Got the same problem, happened yesterday for me, Did some research and it looks like its bad capacitors in the back, check out this page for more information... i'm taking mine to an electrician to fix today... luckily he's related and should be able to fix it on the cheap...

I had a similar problem on a different monitor and fixed the green sparkles by selecting a lower refresh rate.
