Install a brand new needle--make sure it is facing the correct direction. If a new needle doesn't help, then the machine is probably knocked out of time. Search for "sewing machine timing" or take it for service,.
Needle breaks
1.the needle is damaged
2.the needle is not correctly inserted
3.wrong size needle for the fabric
4.the wrong foot is attached
5.the needle clamp screw is loose
6. Top tension is too tight
7. Machine could be out of time
I suggest contact brother.com or a dealer about the needles , cause I've checked on the internet and on the brother site about the needles and couldn't find any information.

Check that the needle is in the right way, flat shank to the back. If it is around backwards, the shuttle hook won't be catching the thread at the back of the needle to form the stitch.
The manual has instructions for cleaning, which is basically removing the needle plate and bobbin case and cleaning the area with a soft brush or cotton swab. Some use canned air.
There is no oiling of computorized sewing machines.
Lubrication has to be done by an authorized tech.
If you oil and get it in the wrong place, it could interfere with the computer's sensors and create more problems.
You will have a hard time finding a repair manual but try e-bay, that model along with the pe-200 has always had issues with timing being thrown out or the needle bar coming loose i would consider a new machine check out the IN-1200
See if you may have thread wound up inside the bobbin hole. The hook needs to cross the needle hole when the needle bar starts up. Adjust needle bar to make up for it.
