Yes it is.
Its an indication that the router is working fine and that it is broadcasting wireless signal.

Power cord
RJ-11 telephone cable coming from a splitter or the extn. line of your landline phone.
Ethernet cable coming from your Desktop/Laptop connecting RJ-45 port
Most standard ADSL modems have four/five lights in the front :
Power light to indicate electric power to the modem.
ADSL light indicates the status of ADSL sync. When the modem is synchronized with the ADSL line card at the other end of the circuit/loop, the DSL light will be steady green.
LAN light will glow steady green when the modem detects a successful link to a computer or router ethernet port.
ACT i.c. Activity light glows when the modem is sending and/or receiving data on the lan and wan. It will vary between very slow to fast flashing and steady green to indicate lan/wan traffic.

WHAT LIGHTS ON LINKSYS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE BLINKING

Note that incoming traffic will cause the WAN (or Internet) light to blink even if it is 'probe' traffic trying to break in to your network. Such traffic is to be expected and is the reason you have firewall functionality in your gateway router.

On the inside, there is a bit of traffic on any LAN when the computers are turned on. Messages generated by the router itself are used to find computers and printers for a lot of different legitimate reasons.

My linksys wrt160n wireless router light is blinking

Welcome to FixYa
Indication of Router Lights:
  • Power light blinks. If LAN or WAN cable is plugged in, their respective lights will flash on activity.
  • Power light turns off for several seconds.
  • All lights, except power light, turn on and then off.
  • Power light blinks slowly, then faster, and WLAN light will turn on.
  • Once Power light and WLAN light are on solid, the router is fully rebooted.

A working router should show solid green power light. upgrade the firmware of the router.

D-Link DIR-600 Router got a new account with att and my dlink wont work. it worked fine untill I had to set up a new account because of a late payment. I tried the install disc but no go all green lights...

Turn off everything and wait for a few minutes and turn on the modem and wait for the lights to be steady then turn on the router and lastly the PC... make sure also that the connection of the modem to the router is correct ( modem should be connected to the WAN/Internet port on the router)

Slow dsl

The cable modem should be connected to the WAN port of the router. Then the computers should be connected to any ports from 1-4 at the back of the router.

Once they are connected properly. Reset the router. Just hold the reset button for 10 seconds. Then turn off the modem, router and all computers.

Then you need to turn on the modem first, wait for the lights to become solid green, then turn on the router. Once the WAN light on the router is on, turn on the computers and check if there is internet connection.

If still no internet connection, contact your ISP. They might need to clone the mac address of router to their end.

Hope this helps! Good luck!

Modem + router = no internet????

Check if your DSL requires you to use a software to connect to the internet or a username and a password. I would assume that you have connected the modem to the internet port or the single port that you can see on its panel. You need to get that into the router and have it connected. With a Dlink, enter 192.168.0.1 on your browser and enter the username and password into the setup page.

Lights are solid green: WAN, local network 1,2,3,4

If that is status of the lights on your router there's a big possibility that its already bad and needs a replacement, but you can first try to reset it and check if that will correct the problem
, To reset the router just press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds while the power is ON then after that check if the lights are back to normal if still the same light router is already bad...

DGL-4300 resets every few seconds

Try the following:
1. Hook up your router like you want it to be
2. After the WAN/Wireless lights turn off we want to HARDRESET your router.
3. There will be a small hole that requires a pen or paper clip to press...Hold this down for about 15 seconds, or untill the power light flashes on your router.

This might take care of it.

let me know.
