My screen is bleeding pink/red fromtop ofscreen with lines coming down into picture. Looks like paint spill. Why?

It sounds as though you may have a cracked lcd panel. Has the set bee hit by any object, or fallen forward at some stage?

Possibly if there are young members of your household, the incident may have gone unreported..... ??

If it is the display panel, the only cure is replacement of the display, which might not be viable due to the high cost involved??

What to do when you have a cracked LCD, LED or Plasma TV

Spending a ton of money on a new TV is the norm these days. Unfortunately televisions are not made like they used to be. Flat panel LCD, LED and Plasma TVs are very fragile. The picture area can be cracked by even light objects hitting the TV.

Once the picture is cracked there is no way to repair it. It needs to be replaced. TV manufacturers purchase LCD, LED and Plasma screens in large quanities and get a great price. When your local repair shop has to purchase a single replacement unit, you will often find it is as expensive if not more expensive then a new TV (if its even avaliable) when you factor in the labor costs. Usually you are better off replacing the TV with a brand new set the next time a good sale comes up then have it repaired.

You would think the TV's warranty or extended warranty you purchased would cover a cracked screen. Alas.. they don't. Every warranty I have ever read does not cover accidental damage. As soon as the repair person sees the screen is cracked, they will tell you the warranty does not cover it and you are out of luck.

While there isn't much hope for repairing your current TV, you can take some simple steps to protect your new TV from damage.

1. Mount the TV on the wall. Its a lot harder for little kids to hit the TV or throw something at the TV when it is mounted on the wall vs sitting on a stand.

2. Explain to the family how fragile the TV is. While this might seem obvious.. kids do know things until they are taught.

3. Wear the wrist strap while playing video games as recommended!

4. Pickup a tv screen protector from a company like TV Armor. They are designed to provide impact protection for the TV without affecting the picture.

Following these simple steps can keep you enjoying your new TV for many years to come even if you do have a budding baseball player at home.

My son head hit the bottom left corner (near corner) there a crack in the glass but doesnt look to deep but now tv wont turn on

Sorry this tv can't be repair the Plasma screen panel is dead. The Plasma screen crack causes the radiations leakages, that why tv screen can't sustance the radiations at all to be able to light up,even tv still have enough radiations to light the Plama screen internal screen menbrance will have a big cracks like a spider web or a huge shatter like a car windshield broken glasses within it safety plastic shield. The tv Plasma screen panel is 90% inportant functions to the tv,by replacing the Plasma screen panel, will cost the same as a new tv,sorry this tv now only worth as a salvage tv for it eclectronic boards for parts, that it.

A sharp object hit the flat screen and now only strange color patterns appear when tv is on

This is considered a broken screen even though you can't see a crack or anything when the television is turned off. You can sell your tv to a service center for parts sometimes. I don't know if Vizio does it but Sharp gives you 20% off a new tv when this happens to their customers. Also your homeowners or renters insurance might cover this. It is not likely that a service provider will fix this for you because it costs more than the cost of a new tv usually but you can inquire about getting a new panel and the cost of labor.

CRACKED INNER SCREEN OF A 50 INCH LG PLASMA FROM NO EXTERNAL DAMA

If nobody at home how was the tv on?!?!?!?!?!? U must have a poltergeist living there if you stick to that story!

Screens do not just crack all by themselves - they need a little help. And product warranty's do not cover abuse. So yeah, you will be eating the 2 big ones.

Broken screen

Sorry to say the LCD panel is broken. Average cost, of just the panel, will be around $1000 not including shop charges.
