I have the power source in the ceiling. I want to run wire to a single pole switch to a ceiling light?

Not understanding, three pole switch is a wrong switch, wires in the ceiling or wall electric box.
Needed: What switch is existing and what wires are in the switch box and runs or groups in each run coming in as wire groups. Same for ceiling box, colors and wires in each run coming in.
Basically, remove the existing ceiling fixture and connect the ceiling fan replacing the fixture to the same wires the fixture was connected to. White to white, green or bare to green or bare, colored wire to fan's blue and black. Wired like this one switch controls both fan and light, on and off at same time. Use fan pull chain switch for individual fan or light control.

You need separate wire going to each light.

Single pole and 3 pole to control each light separately: must identify black wire to each light. If each light does not have separate black wire inside the switch box, then it is not possible.

If you have two hot wires inside the same box, that is unusual unless the power source is 240volt.
However it is possible that box has two hot wires and each controls a different light.

Wiring is not fully described: Location of hot wire and neutral wire from breaker box are unknown.
If Hot wire arrives in ceiling box first, the switch box will not have white neutral wires that are twisted together and covered with wire nut. Neutrals will be in ceiling box.

What is known: You are replacing single pole switch attached to one 14-2 wire going to light.
You are replacing light with a fan-light and replacing switch with a 3-pole TM8111 switch.
You have replaced 14-2 wire with 12-3 wire.

Assume neutrals in ceiling box.
Assume Hot wire in ceiling box: Connect 12-3 black wire to black Hot wire. Connect 12-3 white wire to black wire on light. Connect 12-3 red to red wire on fan.
White neutral from fan and white neutral form light connect to other white neutral wires and covered with wire nut.
Wiring at switch:
Black Hot wire from ceiling box connects to A COM terminal.
White wire to ceiling light connects to A SP2
Red wire to fan connects to A SP1

Did you remove the dimmer switch or alter the wiring whilst putting the ceiling fan control in the wall? If so you have obviously wired it back up the incorrect way. How many original wires were at the light/dimmer switch. Will need to know colours etc?

Very interesting problem! But easy to fix. It's not a defective switch, just a minor wiring error, which would be very hard to solve via back and forth text. So, instead of trying to figure out exactly which wires and terminals to swap at the new switch, it would be much easier to simply swap the light and fan wires at the ceiling fixture, I hope this is helpful. you will have to pigtail the light switch hot to the outlet hot then put the hot of the light on the load side of the switch

well lets see on one side you should have two brass screws that would be to interupt your lead to the fixture then you either have a brass and silver screws on the other side or you have black and white wires the black or brass is always hot the silver or white is neutral does that answer your question if not hit me back with a description of what your switch looks like

run 14-2 wire to power switches, then run one 14-3 wire and one 14-2 up to fixture..you will have an extra neutral but its okay... just tie all nuetrals together....this gives you the needed 3 hot wires!
