How to disable headphone jack

WIN 7.: Right click on Speaker Icon in right lower corner. Select playback devices. A list will appear. Right click on the Headphone you want disabled and click on " disable". I did have some audio issues with my new HP8570w and I updated the Audio driver which also helped with the Headphone / Speaker selection issue I was having. You can download the latest audio (IDT in my case) drivers from HP.com

Ive connected my laptop to my tv via hdmi cable, get great picture but no sound through my tv only off the laptop, ive gone to control panel, sounds, playback but the is only 2 options neither of which says...

In all the laptops the HDMI sends only the video. If you want to send the sound you will have to use the analogue audio outputs - line out of your laptop has it (some allow the headphone jack to be configured as one) or just the headphone jack. You will need a cable like

Front headphone jack does not work, do not get sound. I have an a1450n HP Pavilion running windows 7 ultimate. Running Realtek High Definition audio drivers. This problem is quite common on the internet....

If you face issue with only front jack then you need to check the connection of front jack to motherboard. For that open cpu cabinet cover. Then find the cable from front sound jack to motherboard. Connect it into right position .You can find diagram on motherboard or in manual. There is some pins on the corner of motherboard. Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.

I am not getting any sound from desktop speakers..i have sony driver installed

Onboard audio is disabled in the BIOS
The BIOS Setup program is accessed by pressing the <F2> key after the Power-On Self-Test (POST) memory test begins and before the operating system boot begins. Go to the Advanced > Peripheral Configuration menu to make sure onboard audio is enabled.
Audio settings in the sound mixer are incorrect
Check your audio mixer software to ensure audio is not muted or the volume level is not turned too low.
The speakers or headphones may be connected to the wrong jacks
Make sure you connect all speakers to the correct jacks. If you connect them to line-in or microphone jacks, they won't work.
Audio drivers are not properly installed
Check Device Manager under the Sound, video and game controllers section for any errors associated with the audio driver. Reinstall the audio driver if necessary.
Audio to back panel is muted if front panel is connected
Check your audio mixer software for a setting that mutes back panel audio if you have plugged headphones into a front panel audio solution. Uncheck this setting to allow audio to both the back and front.
Sound Playback is set to wrong device
In Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices, go to the Audio tab. Check the default device for sound playback; there may be multiple selections. Select the desired device, either rear panel or front panel.

Jack for headphones

Whether your unit has a jack for headphone or not I don't know. But if it has sockets for line out it can be of some help. Line out sockets provide the output from preamplifier section and in many conventional audio systems the same is the substitute for driving headphones. So you can try connecting your headphones to the line out sockets using an adaptor pin.
NB-The preamplifier of all audio systems are not able to drive headphones. Only some can. But if you introduce a headphone amplifier between the line out sockets and your headphone it will SURELY work.
