Have you gone to your new ISP providers website, and surfed the internet?
I know, most routers have to be registered to gain access to the internet.
You might have to manually input the MAC address (found on the bottom of the router) to your ISP, then sometimes it takes anywhere from 5 minutes to 1 hour for the router to register, depending on your ISP.

After the router is registered, you can plug or wireless connect to the internet.

We moved and when everything was hooked up i cant get a connection from my linksys wireless router to my laptop

Ok - hook the power to the Linksys - then RESET - the folded out paper clip will work. Once RESET - hook it up to your ISP provided MODEM [ You must have this service to get on the web] now unplug the Modem provided by your ISP or provider - and unplug the router.
WAIT
15 seconds - then
hook up the MODEM from the provider - then hook up the router - then restart the laptop - if wired it will need to be plugged in - if wireless - run your 'search for a wireless signal and you should have it.

Thanks

No internet connection

When connecting the devices make sure that you turn on the device in this manner: modem (wait for the lights to be solid) then router, then the computer.

Check if you can get online, if not then follow the steps below:

1. Open a web browser and type this in the address bar: 192.168.1.1

2. Then you will be in the setup page of the router. You need to know what is your connection type obtained from your ISP.

If DHCP, internet connection type should be: Automatic Configuration - DHCP should be selected.

If PPPoE, select PPPoE and type the username and password provided by your ISP.

3. Then save the changes.

Once that the internet connection is working from the PC hardwired connected to the router, then check the wireless settings under the wireless tab. Take note of the SSID, wide channel, and the wireless security and preshared key.

Put those settings on the wireless adapter of the laptop and you should be able to get online.

I hope this works! Good luck!

Have a acer wireless laptop I can not configurate my linksys wireless wrt610n wireless router ' I tried both options using my exsisting dsl modem and just the linksys wireless router.

your internet service provider is DSL.
Is there any other computer which is able to go online ?
If this is the only computer then you will need to check the Internet through the modem.
Your computer should be able to go online when connected to the modem.
If not online then you should have user name and password for the ISP.
if you have other computer online through the modem, then you will need to check the settings of the router.
