How do I operate my Philips go-gear 8GB mp4 player. Serial # RK1H1051038306, model # 06095819004. I can't make out the users manual. What I am tying to do is, transfer my class lectures, recorded in mp3...

Hi,

I have a Philips go-gear 4GB player. There is no charger included. To charge the player, use any firewire/USB cable and connect the device to a PC or laptop. While the device is charging, the battery icon is blinking. When it is fully charged, the battery icon will stay static.

To copy to the device, open Windows explorer. Look for the Philips Go-gear folder icon. Open the Philips folder and Copy you music files inside the device's my music folder. If the file is video, copy the file in the my video folder.

Once the device is fully charged, disconnect the device by right-clicking on the Safely Remove Hardware icon on lower right portion of your PC screen. Select Safely remove hardware then Choose the philips go-gear device to eject.

Power on the device then use the navigation keys to select the files you like to play. Click ok or the play button.

The battery status indicator does not show on my screen. I can only see it when I first turn on using battery power. It doesn't show me anything when it's charging, or how much battery life I have left.

The indicator goes away telling you that its no longer running on battery power and that its running on the car or AC charger. During that time, its charging the battery. Only when you remove the unit from the charger/adapter will you see the battery icon because you will then be on battery power. 4 green bars mean you are near or fully charged.

The voice recorder is in read only status - you will need to format the device to remove the lock (read only). Go to menu - to submenu and then run the format option. make sure all files have been downloaded as once device is formatted all files will be permanently deleted

How tu use video recording..

Hi,

The picture that I posted shows a TZ3 mode dial. I added a blue arrow to point out an icon on the mode dial.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Turn the mode dial on the camera so this icon is selected.
2. Switch on the camera.
3. Aim the camera at your subject, press the shutter button halfway to focus, then press it fully to begin the video. (Just as you would take a picture.)
4. To stop taking video, press the shutter button fully again.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

~When a video starts being taken, its current length will appear on the camera's LCD screen.
~Videos take up more space on the memory card than do pictures.
~If an SD memory card becomes full while recording, then the video will stop automatically.
~Videos can be played back on the camera's "PLAYBACK" mode. They can also be viewed on a TV or downloaded to a computer.

LCD won't project

You may have a problem with the image sensor device (CCD). From October 3, 2005 through October 2, 2007, Sony will repair, free of charge, affected products exhibiting the above-mentioned problem where it is caused by the image sensor device. Sony will also cover the cost of shipping and handling from and to addresses within the United States and US Territories for service to correct this issue. To see if you have this problem: Power On your camcorder (make sure the battery is fully charged). Check the LCD screen and verify that the display icons are turned on. If you cannot see the icons, press the Display button until the icons are visible. Put a tape in the camcorder. With the lens cap off, record some video. NOTE: Be sure to speak during the recording so the video will contain your voice. Rewind this section of the tape (using tape counter to verify start of your recording). Play back the recorded video and use the LCD screen on the camcorder to view it. You should hear the audio you recorded and the Display icons/text will still appear. If your camcorder is affected by this CCD issue, the picture will either be extremely distorted, or there will be no visible picture (just a blank LCD screen with the display icons still visible).
