Sounds like a main board or a sustain board problem. This is most definantly not a repair job for the consumer to attempt. Please call in someone who is experienced with Plasma TV sets, as these boards can be very very expensive. Too expensive for you to guess and buy and then have to order the other one. Oh this model also has some power supply issues as well. Good Luck Please do not forget to rate this thread.

It's hard to say without seeing a picture. Panasonic has a site with pictures of various Plasma symptoms and the board that will cause that problem. Go to: http://www.pasctraining.panasonic.com/PASS/elearn/PDP.htm Click on: Pictures of plasma symptoms It will direct you to a PDF file. It may not be your exact problem, but, it will show you which board will cause your problem. Hope this helps.
SOURCE: TV Screen Stripes
NOt very clear.....
Multiple stripes all over the screen? Vertical or horizontal?
If it's only like an inch vertical lines put a mark on the cabinet where exaclty the line is, turn off the TV then open the back, you'll see lots of ribbon wires (gold color) from the plasma panel it self going to buffer boards, using the mark find the closest ribbon wire where the line is showing then remove and clean the contacts, make sure to reseat it properly when putting it back otherwise you'll just add more lines or black bar on the screen if pins are not seating properly.
But do not be afraid if the lines get worst just turn the power off right away and reaset the ribbon wire till you get it correctly.
CAUTION;
DO NOT try to do this while the TV is on oherwise you'll burn COF (Chip on film) on the panel and you'll end up replacing the whole PDP.
Good luck!
SOURCE: tv will not turn on
Had same problem, no turn on.
No blinks, by the way.
Checked fuses, everything is ok.
Had Panasonic tech check it, and he found that by disconnecting the DT (digital tuner) board, the system would "click".
He said $700 total to repair ($500 parts). I said no.
I got the TV to work, by unpluging and then pluging back the DT board WHILE POWER ON.
Now TV works, but if I turn the TV off I have to do the unplug plug sequence.
This is VERY DANGEROUS as there are high voltages in the TV, so I don't recommend it to anyone not trained.
My long term solution? Find a cheap DT board on ebay or WWW

If the screen split is exactly 50/50 top/bottom You are not getting SU or Scan Upper drive.
These are lovely set to work on.
Most likely is SU board itself - Not repairable just to be replaced.
Sorry I work in the UK so I can only guide that the UK part is around £30
SU may have been damaged by failure if the PDP (Plasma Display Panel) but is 9 years only had 2 screens damage the SU board.
There are several setups to do after fitting a PDP. If you don't have the service data - Do not risk it, Reduced life of the Panel and a safety risk.
