Problem with the Microsoft Windows XP Professional CD BOOT: MEMORY OVERFLOW ERROR I am trying to re install xp on to a pc it runs through the cdrom drive but its shows cd boot memory overflow error and no screen will be displayed

put in your windows installation CD and restart your system.
this should make your pc boot from your windows CD . then you need to select 'repair' when the windows installation screen appears and your pc will run through and repair any errors it encounters.

try this one:
get a win98 boot disk from www.bootdisk.com
start pc with this disk
run fdisk command
delete partition if any on the hdd
create partition
turn pc off and restart with the same disk
format your hdd
it's clean
take 98 disk off the pc
put xp cd in
start pc
let xp install clean

try to re-install the windows by booting first priority with the cd rom using the windows xp cd installer.

did you overclock you cmos? go to cmos again and load factory default. and try to install xp again.

This could be a memory problem or a problem with the OS (XP). If you can boot the original XP CD like your doing an install then it's not a memory problem more the likely. Can you boot your XP CD?

You are getting this error because you have formatted the harddrive and now your computer cannot find your old copy of Windows.
To install the new copy you have to put the Windows disk in the CD or DVD drawer and restart the computer, when the compter starts (before the no operating system window) you should have options to Enter SetUp. You need to press the appropriate "F" key to enter set up or boot order and tell the machine to boot from the CD.
As it is now your machine is trying to start from the harddrive and its not finding anything, you need it to start from the cd drive so that it can install windows.
