I have a Polaroid 42" TLX-04244B. When turning the power on the polaroid logo comes on for a sec. then screen goes black with the blue power LED staying solid. Im pretty sure the power suply board isnt working right as the red LED on board blinks once every 2 seconds. Cant find anything shorted on board. Does anyone know what the voltage outputs are for this unit or are schematics available. Thanks Chris

The Inverter is trying to produce the high voltage to light the backlight. It looks like it cannot hold the charge to maintain the high voltage level in order for it to stay on - you get a momentary display at initial power-up thus see the logo. Replace the Inverter board.

if their is a sound with totally black screen the cause would be either inverter board get bad or the screen back light was damaged. if just a white screen, you can noticed by looking at the dark room. then the cause would be bad t-con board. just let me know if it can help you can ask further solution thanks for consulting through fixya.

Last night I turned my Polaroid TLX 04244B off, and had zero problems. This afternoon, I have a 6" pattern of horizontal lines across the right hemisphere of the screen. They come and go, darker...

You are probably seeing hum bars which may be due to an AC ground loop that is going through the shields of one or more of the cables inteconnecting the TV with one or more of the other video components. You should do the following to try to resolve it...
1. reseat all the interconnecting cables between TV and other units
2. have all AC power supplied by one power bar with a ground plug

I have a polaroid TLX-04244B TV. It will periodically just shut off but the LED will stay blue. what is the problem? I read that acapacitor was the issue on another model is that the same for mine?

Failed capacitors are common problem in ALL switching power supply in TV and monitor. You may also want to look for cold solder joints and loose connections.

I Think NO expert can help this problem because it free answer

I think I may finally have the answer for the "black screen of death" for the 42" Polaroid LCD televisions. I was having the same issue with the screen going black after a couple minutes of being on. I would shut it down then turn it back on and it would work again for 5-10 minutes. On the "power board" which is the board on top, there is a little red light that turns on when the screen would go black. above that there are 4 little switches, the lower on says BURN. I simply switched that over and the television has been working for 2 days for 8 hours + each day. Hope this help. Let me know

42' polaroid tv wont show screen still

well if the light stays blue , that means its still on ...what you may need to do is go to your menue and select the setup selection and then go to tuning band.....i belive it will be on page 32 of you manual, under customising the setup settings....in order for the tv to start working it needs to be able to scan for channels.....if you are useing a cable company like comcast or direct tv...depending on how you pluged it into the tv ,(like using the input 1 or 2 , s-vidio, cable , ectra,)...you need to push the input button thats on the lower right side of your remote and select the propper input area as to how you hooked up your cable box
