Thanks very much for asking. This was the first time I've ever attempted something like this from a web-site. The fix posted helped me very much. For the cost of the 2 capacitors from Radio Shack and a cheap soldering gun I was able to fix the problem in about 30 minutes. The pictures were the key.

I read in one of the forums to un-plug it for a while to reset the micro-chip amd alos reset the box and this seemed to work--for now anyway... thanks

my speakers died some time ago, it wasn't worth fixing, went to a component 5.1 speaker setup. good luck.

Try a reset frist by unplugging for 2 minutes then restart the TV. If you only paid $300 for the TV you will most likely pay more than that for repairs and parts to fix it otherwise.
