A no start condition can be caused by several different things. A simple remedy to try is to remove the air cleaner from its housing and get some carburetor/choke cleaner spray and spray it into the air intake to the carb. Attempt to start immediately and if it pops, then spray some more. If you can get it to run, spray some into it while running...do this somewhere where it won't **** in dirt while running (in other words, clean the carb while its mounted on the engine). To really clean it the way it should be, it would need to be removed and soaked awhile in a bath-type cleaner.

Not all mowers use this feature to start their fuel flowing. Try using choke for 2-3 pulls, and reduce to half-choke if it starts. If all else fails, make sure it's not flooded by opening up the throttle for a few pulls.

Have a self-starting, self propelled toro lawn mower about 5 years old, I ran it out of gas by accident & now it won't start

It seems to be an obstruction in your fuel delivery system. Get a can of ether and a spray a short burst of it into the breather area near the carburetor, if the mower starts up and then stalls out, then you may need to get your carburetor serviced.

First make your kill handle is pulling your cable all the way back.Sometimes the cable will rust or even break inside its sheathing. to test take a peice of wire and tie it off by pulling the arm all the way back then start it. If that works replkace kill cable

Is the choke supposed to be forward or back to start the mower? The cable is worn so the choke has to be set with a screwdriver.

The best way to check if the choke is on is to remove the air filter. If you look into the air intake on the carburettor, the choke is on when the choke plate blocks the intake.

How do you remove the gears on a front wheel self propelled troy bilt push mower?

Take the front tires off, pull gears and take out pins, put tires back on and you have a "non-self propell" mower.

I have a poulan pro self propelled lawn mower that won't start. It ran fine this morning, but after I took a break and went back outside to finish mowing, it wouldn't start. It sounds like it won't...

You need to check a few things. The spark first, you need to check if it is running correctly, does it have spark, by doing this: take out the spark, put it against a metal surface and pull the pull start if it spark, your good if not you need a new spark plug. Clean out your airfiilter it migth help too. Buy some carb and choke cleaner squirt it up theough the airfilter hole, and start the engine, this will clen the carb. yOU MIGHT NEED TO TAKE OUT THE CARB AND CLENA I OUT THROUGHOULY!!! Try that and it whould work after all these steps!

This hapened on my mower and it turned u that the spark pug was too bigfor the motor and the valves were totally broke!!!Not good...
