My Sharp Aquos TV has stopped responding to remote control(s)

Ive had my Sharp Aquos for about ten days. Yesterday, I tried to turn the TV on using the remote control that came with it (batteries are fine) and found that the TV simply isnt responding to the remote control. I tried using my cable remote (Scientific Atlanta HD box), which was programmed to be able to control the TV and had been working fine, and turned out that the TV was also no longer responding to the cable remote (the cable remote is still able to control the cable...e.g., change cable channels, pull up the guide, and everything else). I tried turning down the backlight, and still no effect. Can someone please help?

Unplugging my TV for 15 seconds (longer actually - at least a minute) made the remote and the satellite TV remote both work again with the TV.  Thanks for the tip!

My Sharp tv remote will not turn on / off tv. It will turn on by the main power switch on tv but not by remote.

From page 8 of the manual:

The POWER indicator on the AQUOS television should light GREEN indicating you have power to the AQUOS television.

If the POWER indicator on the AQUOS television still does not light up, press TV POWER on the remote control to turn the power on.

IMPORTANT:
IF THE UNIT DOES NOT POWER ON - UNPLUG THE AQUOS TELEVISION FROM THE OUTLET AND REPEAT THE INSTALLATION STEPS.

IF YOU STILL ENCOUNTER NO POWER, PLEASE CONTACT US AT 1-800-BE-SHARP

Att uverse receiver hooked up to sharp aquos tv, remote quits

first try new batteries and be sure you have pressed the AT&T mode button at the top left of the remote - if you still have issues then on the sharp tv menu - turn off any energy saver mode, Optical Picture Control, taking the picture mode from dynamic or vivid to standard, and if that doesn't work - try changing the backlight settings if your tv has one.

LC-32d40U Sharp Aquos Screen shows "please wait" controls do not respond

Hi.

Im not familiar with your TV set as it is made for USA but here in the UK some sharp models suffer with similar problem & this is the remedy.
As I said I cant gtee it will sort your problem but give it A try.
  1. Unplug the AC power cord of TV set to force power off.
  2. While holding down the “VOL (–)” and “INPUT” keys on the set at once, plug in the AC power cord to turn on the set. This should hopefully clear the problem.
