SOURCE: Ipod won't work unless plugged in to computer or mains

alison65,

good day, the only possible cause why your player can only power up using it's own charger or through pc connection is:

1) The connection of the rechargeable battery inside the player is loose or out of contact

2) The rechargeable battery itself is faulty
3) The connection from the charging line is loose or out of contact

most likely your problem is within the internal of the unit.

cheers,
mark

SOURCE: Ipod wont turn on. ive tried everything! none worked! HELP!

You will want to attempt to force the iPod into disc mode before restoring. This should solve your issue.
Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Set it to Hold, then turn it off again.) Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons for at least 6 seconds until the Apple logo appears. When the Apple logo appears, release the Menu and Select buttons and immediately press and hold the Select and the Play/Pause buttons until the Disk Mode screen appears.
Connect the iPod to your computer; the screen on the iPod will change and say "Do not disconnect" If you are having difficulty putting the iPod model into disk mode, set it on a flat surface. Make sure that the finger pressing the Select button is not touching the Click Wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Play/Pause button toward the outside of the Click Wheel and not near the center.
If you are still unable to put your iPod with a Click Wheel into Disk Mode, use one finger from one hand to press the Select button, and one finger from the other hand to press the Play/Pause button.
Please let me know if this did not resolve your issue. :)

SOURCE: White screen on my silver 120gb ipod classic

The white screen on Apple Products is never really a good thing.

You've probably heard of the blue screen of death(Windows) and the red ring of death(XBox), the white screen is referred to the white screen of death, normally not something you can recover from.

But try this anyway:

Reset the iPod:

  1. Turn the Hold switch on, then back to off.
  2. Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons for 10 seconds (until the Apple logo appears).
  3. You may need to repeat the reset several times.
If the reset doesn't help, then put the iPod into forced disk mode.

Put iPod into Disk Mode:

Apple suggests that you ensure your iPod is charged before following the next step. How exactly you check a charge on an iPod screen that is completely white has yet to be revealed. But hey, give it a shot anyway. Plug the iPod into a high-powered USB port, let it sit for 2 hours, then disconnect it. If you have a wall charger, plug in the iPod, then follow these steps while it is still plugged in.
  1. Turn the Hold switch on, then back to off.
  2. Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons until the Apple logo appears
  3. Immediately switch your figures to press and hold the Select and the Play/Pause buttons until "Disk Mode" appears at the top.

For a lot of people, this solves the problem. Connect the iPod to the computer and (assuming it shows up) reset the iPod again to get it out of Disk Mode. If at this point you still have the white screen, restore the iPod using the restore function in iTunes under the Summary tab (this will erase everything on the iPod and put it at factory settings).

Don't disconnect or eject the iPod until the store is totally done. After you think it's done, wait another five minutes.

I have an old accordion and cant find maker.made in italy number 3155 please help

I think I would start with an image search on google. Type in the info you know and year ( accordion 1947 + Italy) and match it to an image / maker or item that happens to be for sale. You might need to remove Italy in a second search.
Good Luck I have an old Honer from Germany, 1955.

I dont know how to take videos off my nano

  • Connect your 5th Generation iPod Nano to your computer with your iPod cord.

  • 2

locate your iPod in My Computer(Windows) or the Finder(OSX)

  • 3

Open the Folder titled DCIM then open the folder titled 000Apple.

  • 4

    open the folder titled 000Apple.

  • 5

The files ending in .mp4 are your videos. copy and

  • and paste or drag and drop these files to a folder on your computer.

  • 6

Thats it! you can now edit and share your iPod videos with your Friends!

The rest of this step is just filler because eHow will not let me publish this article unless it has a certain amount of words in it. So i figured i would just write this long redundant paragraph at the end to satisfy the crazy supercomputer that runs this site instead of making my steps unnecessarily complicated and confusing you guys..

I was looking through my ipod and went to security and accidently clicked screenlock and ever since i havent been able to unlock it

    hello,

I’ve have solve a lot of people post questions on other posts here at MDV asking how to unlock the iPod Screen Lock function if you forget the 4 digit combination/pass code, so I figured I would write up a short tutorial here to direct you to unlock yours .

There are basically three ways to unlock the Screen Lock on your iPod:
    1. The most obvious and will not work for most people (or else you wouldn’t be visiting this web site). Simply enter the 4 digit combination/pass code at extras screen lock
    2. Connect your iPod to the first computer it was synced with or the computer set as the primary one in iTunes. Open the iTunes application, then disconnect your iPod from the computer, and it should no longer be locked.
    3. Use this final way only if the first two options do not work for you because it is a destructive process.
    4. please note this Everything on your iPod will be erased.
This should not be a problem if you have all of your songs, videos, and other media stored in iTunes and you can synchronize once again after getting the iPod unlocked.
thank you and thanks for using fixya.

I need to unklock my ipod

    Try this.....

Connect Ipod to your computer. Under file folder options, enable hidden files (there are different ways to do
this, depending on the operating system that you are using on your computer). Click on the Ipod, and
look for a file folder named "iPod_Control" and open it. Inside this folder, you will find another folder
named "Device". inside this folder, find a a file named "_locked".
    Then do the follwing-

    1) First rename the "_locked" file to "_unlocked". Disconnect the iPod and reset it.
    2) If that did not solve the problem, delete all the text inside the aforementioned file. Save it, and
then disconnect the iPod and reset it.

    3) If that still did not work, delete the file and then disconnect the iPod and reset it.

Keep in mind that this is not an Apple-sanctioned solution, so use caution when trying this,
and if you are not sure of what you are doing, backup any files before you alter or delete them.
