Push the little lever sticking out of the dispenser.
Maybe you have some calcium or hardened soap that is holding the lid closed. some Lemi-Shine powder dissolved in hot water and use an old toothbrush to clean off the soap/hard-water deposits.
Hey im having exactly the same problem with my samsung WF9854RWE and after the load of washing is done when you open the draw water spills out everywhere.
It sounds like the timer showing 1:09 is the time in minutes (109 minutes = 1 hour 49minutes) which is approximately the same as your own timer shows.
The soap dispenser often gets blocked and you will have to remove it and clean away all the residual, built up soap.
It sounds like the drain plug in the base of the unit has become blocked and that is why the soap dispenser is filling with water. All the water SHOULD DRAIN THROUGH the dispenser when it washes the soap down into the washing machine.
Also sounds like your water or fabric softener is blocked too!
Take the plastic parts out and clean away all soap residues.
Yes that's normal for that machine. The soap has to be washed out of the soap drawer by the top spray arm turning, and that's usually the problem - the arm isn't turning. Check both spray arms for blocked jets at the very end - remove blockages with a pin and water flow from tap. In the worst case, you may need a new spray arm - but they are usually cheap.
More points to remember - on a rapid 30 minute wash program only, if you are using wash tablets, don't put them in the soap drawer as there wont be enough time for them to dissolve. put the tabs in the cutlery basket. Also - a dishwasher is not a garbage disposal unit, and uneaten food must be scraped of plates before putting them in the dishwasher. Run a dishwasher cleaner through now and then, or do a full program wash with nothing in the machine to clean it out and to keep spray arms clear.
I urge you to only use Electrosol or Cascade powder with your (or any) dishwasher. Most ultra-cheap powder will not clean effectivly. If the dispenser does not open with the powder inside, a service call is the next step.
If you reply, please tell me the Make and model of your dishwasher.Good Luck!
The soap dispenser is intended for both liquid and powder detergents. If you have a problem with mildew, then you may need to clean it occasionally with bleach water.
