When you receive the LE error code, unplug the machine for approximately 15 - 20 minutes. This will reset the microprocessor.
Oversudsing is the main cause of LE error codes. Using non-HE detergents or too much detergent will cause stress on the motor. Oversudsing can also cause leaking and odor.
A breakdown in the signal between the microprocessor and the motor may cause the error code. This can occur if there is a loose wire.
A couple of notes about this - there are at least three motors on this unit - the main pump, the drain pump, and the 'vario motor' which appears to control the direction of water flow through the sprayers. The main pump is the one likely to go bad. Another cause of the LE code is broken wires in the door. The wires in the door get stuck in the black sound insulation and eventually break. Sometimes, this causes the LE error code. Check the wires in the door first. They are located behind the large front panel. It's easily removed by undoing 6 screws.
Take the front door panel off and look for a purple wire embedded in the insulation. the wire has most likely broken. Simply splice it back together and you will be back up and running
