Hi i had the same problem and did exactly as u instructed but its not working. I checked the filters hundred times but there s not a speck of dirt visible. What can it be?
The filter is behind the front panel on the indoor unit. Look for a thumb or finger grip at each side of the panel and lift the bottom of the panel out and up. The filters should be seen as soon as you lift the panel. The filters will slide out. Wash them under running water by hand. Don't scrub , vacuum or brush them. They are quiet fragile and any harsh scrubbing will damage them. Cheers.
Did you figure out why the ac wasn't responding to the remote? I am having the same problem. I just cleaned out the filters but it's still not responding to the remote. I have already tried reset button in the remote, which didn't help. I am pretty sure that the remote is not out of battery.
Its very simple to remove that red light glowing on the AC, just switch-off your AC with your remote, but don't turn off the switch that resides with in the plug, remove filters wash gently and dry under shade and place them again in the AC, now keep it without turning-off the switch for 30-60minutes this is called stand by mode. Now take the remote open the panel and press the button that is situated in 4th row and 3rd column. By doing this the red light will be turned off and enjoy your AC.
If you didn't turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF, before removing the filter. That is the problem. To clear the error message. Turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF, unplug the unit, remove the filter and reinstall it. Wait 10 minutes, plug the unit back in, turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON. The controls should have reset themselves and the clean filter light should not appear.

Check on top of the indoor unit. On some models, the filter will slide out from there without having to open the cabinet. On others you will need to pull on the top front and the panel will swing down (it will be hinged) and the filter will be behind that panel.
