Outside calls are going directly to voicemail

I have a panasonic 7630. The outside calls are going directly to voicemail.

Everything from the main console(Reception) is fine.
when someone calls from an outside line to my phone directly it goes straight to voicemail instead of ringing. How do I get my phone to ring?

There should be a switch at the side of the phone that controls this.
you need to set the amount of rings u want before it goes to voicemail.

Why does my Panasonic KX-TGM420 go straight to voice mail?

Voicemail is a service of your telephone company. If your calls are going to voicemail, check the settings following the directions for the service. If the answering system is getting the calls, then check if the KX-TGM420 handset(s) and base are set to a ringer volume of 0. You can change this from either the base or a handset by pressing the + button while the phone is ringing. Otherwise, when the phone system is in standby (no calls in or out), press # 1 6 0 on a handset or * # 1 6 0 on the base. Then set the ringer volume on the handset (0-6) or base (0-10). This is the equivalent of pressing menu and navigating through the menu (Menu > Settings > Ringer Adjustment > Ringer Volume (Incoming)). You can also turn off the ringer by pressing and holding 0 on the handset and Ringer Off on the base. See pages 33 and 44 of the manual, link below.

I hope this helps. The manual is available here: https://help.panasonic.ca/viewing/ALL/KX-TGM420/OI/TGM420_PNQX7794YA/TGM420_PNQX7794YA.pdf .

Panasonic EL52253 cordless phone: after completing a call, the in use light on the base remains lit unless the user presses the red OFF button on the phone. Can this shutoff be made automatic?

great job at asking the question. so much better than most on this site. I would try deregistering all the hand sets and then re-registering the base unit handset. see pdf instructions:

Ringer/ Voicemail Bounceback

Well, this one is kinda tricky. If the receptionist knows there's no one there, they can use VoiceMail Transfer.

From the phone, the user can set CF Busy or CF Busy/No Answer with the following codes on the intercom:

Do Not Disturb *7101 / Cancel *7100

Call Forwarding2.gif (FWD)

– Both Calls *710
– Outside Calls *711
– Intercom Calls *712

2 (All calls) + phone no. + #/
3 (Busy) + phone no. + #/
4 (No Answer) + phone no. + #/
5 (Busy/No Answer) + phone no. + #/
7 (Follow Me) + your extension no./
8 (Follow Me Cancel) + your extension no.

So, if your voice mail is 500, you would dial *7105500# to set CF B/NA for intercom and outside calls.

The last piece of the puzzle is the timing. That's *713 (00-99). Start with 24 (4 rings) and go from there. If it hits the receptionist before the forward takes place, you probably have to adjust the recall timer for call transfer, a system program.

Voicemail box not set up

I have seen the same problem with some users (I look after the PABX) so I just go into the maintenance console and set up the foreward to the default voice mail number. Or you can try the following:

CALL FORWARDING HANDSET 1. Press the Speaker Phone Key on your handset 2. Then Press the FWD/DND Key 3. Then select the Forward type you desire - Key 2 - Immediate Key 5 - Busy/No Answer 4. Then dial the internal extension number (eg.444) or voicemail pilot (201) 4a. If forwarding to external number dial 0 then dial outside telephone number 5. Dial # then press the Speaker Phone key

Use the voice mail that is set for your system.

Hope this helps

VOICE MESSAGE

I always figure if you ask here, it should be answered here.

Did you call your Panasonic dealer? They have the information of the type of system you have, that the 76xx phones are plugged into, and they have a handy book called the PTPM that you might be able to get.

The TVA voice mail system requires programming and the phones should have had a Voicemail Transfer button programmed on them at time of installation. Again, your dealer would be able to answer those questions.
