S. C. Johnson & Son Scrubbing Bubbles Automatic Toilet Bowl Cleaner Twin Pack Refill Fresh Scen Logo
Posted on Sep 05, 2010

We just replaced our Scrubbing bubbles automatic shower cleaner. We put brand new batteries in the unit. Compartment is dry. When we push the start button, it beeps at us and starts to spay for not even a full second and stops. then it will not "go" again unless we take the batteries out and start all over again....and then at that it runs for less than a second and stops. Our first unit worked for a couple of years (with replacing the batteries) But this new one is giving us fits. Should we return the unit or is there a quick fix?

I've found that the batteries lose contact after w while, so here is what I do:
1) take a pencil eraser and rub each of the contacts with it.
2) lightly apply some petroleum jelly to each end of the battery.
3) make sure the compartment is completely dry. Take a small piece of paper towel, roll it up, and, with the pencil, rub the inside of each of the battery compartments.
4) re-insert batteries and try again. It should work!

Use some crazy glue in the button. Try to keep it off the spring when gluing the button back to the metal part of the switch.

Where does the batteries go

Remove the Phillips head screw on the top of the pump unit. Then remove the top. Under that are two more screws. Remove these screws and lift the lid to open the battery compartment.

My Black & Decker F1050 steanm iron started spitting ugly brown water out today...HELP?

Hi Barb,
It sounds like you have rust buildup in your iron.

I would try cleaning it inside with a mixture of hot water, vinegar, and baking soda. Put the hot water and vinegar mix in first then add the baking soda. The bubbles do the work (scrubbing bubbles...). Then, rinse thoroughly.

Then, never put your iron away until completely dry inside. Let it heat until you're pretty sure it is dry. If you don't, the rust will come back real quickly.

Hope this helps. If you appreciate my response, I'd appreciate your vote. Thanks,

I have an SI-538 shower companion cd player/fm radio. It works with the adapter plugged in, but it won't run on batteries all of a sudden, even if they are brand new and the correct voltage. What could be...

Check the battery terminals for corrosion, and if possible spray the terminals with some switch/contact cleaner spray... the other problem maybe a bad solder connection on the adaptor socket, not allowing connection from the batteries to the unit.

1997 Town Car Presidential is stained and dirty

First, try the Lincoln dealer. They have chemicals specific to your material used on your car.

Second, I have used "Scrubbing Bubbles" shower cleaner on a wide variety of autos and plastic handled tools with good success.

Scrubbing Bubbles Automatic Shower Cleaner quit working

I just experienced the same problem for the third time. Call J&J Customer Care 1-800-558-5252. Select option 3.

Explain your problem and they will send you a coupon for a new Scrubbing Bubbles Starter Kit with a full bottle of solution in 7 to 10 business days. I would not waste my time to take the old apart, just call and get a NEW ONE.
