When I moved to vista, I loaded the driver and after that when I press setup in the scanner it tells:
There is no application registered for this event
Scan with Arcsoft PhotoStudio
It's on your disk
works perfectly!!!
That doesn't mean it's not compatible. Forget about the buttons. Install Toolbox. Run Toolbox and try to scan from there.
Lide 30 work with vuescan software ....
I got it to work! I just bought this off craigslist and was having some troubles with vista also. I downloaded the vista and the xp drivers and it didn't work at first. I ran the drivers and still nothing. Then i decided to unplug the pucky and plug it back in. Now photoshop recognises it when i go to "FILE", "Import". How odd but it's all good now.
I have a windows vista labtop, and have tried to install CanoScan LiDE20,30 but couldnt go through.
The software couldnt be installed, how do I go about it,

I'm running Windows 7. Looked all over the web for a solution. Canon does not support its older equipment. I downloaded Ubuntu Linux, installed it and all the Canon stuff works perfectly.Now, I dual boot Windows & and Linux. I'm using Linux for 90% of my work and I don't pay for software.

I found that for some reason if you use the Canoscan software that came with the scanner the scan will work in Vista. However, the Microsoft products refuse to recognize the scanner though.
I have MANY other Microsoft products in my computer and it doesn't work says I need installation disc or software. Now what?
I have a Canon scanner a Lide something 30. I does not work in this laptop. It says I need the software to install it. is there a site or link that I can use for free to download what I need? I just bought a new HP desk top computer with windows vista 64 and my Canoscan Lide 30 does not work, I tried loading the systems disk and it would not work, then plugged it in and it still doesn't work.
Contacted canon support and they say they don't have drivers that support Windows Vista 64?!!!!!! What now I have a perfectly good scannor that I like very much and I cannot use it. Why????

Canon CanoScan LiDE 30 Flatbed Scanner works in Vista using the canoscan toolbox but will not accenpt event responses from the front buttons. Vista says I have the latest driver so maybe it will never work unless Canon see fit to fix the driver.
I am never buying another Cannon Scanner> Screw them! It will never work with Vista. I am switching to a Mac
