Just look around the web for a "Magnetic Cartridge Preamp".
You plug your turntable into this and the preamp in an aux socket of Surround Amp and the sound will be the same level as the other devices.

No sounds coming from my Sony PS-LX250H

you will an amp . this unit is supposed to a preamp., making it line level.
The Sony PS-LX250H's built-in phono preamp allows you to use the turntable with any receiver, HTIB, or computer sound card by plugging the turntable's cables into any line-level input, such as auxiliary or VCR. If your receiver does have a dedicated phono input, we recommend using it instead of the turntable's internal phono preamp (which can be turned off). Chances are, the turntable will sound better that way.

Cannot hook up sound to surround sound , everything else works, cd player, radio, tapedeck. just the turntable does not work. any suggestions? deb

Hi, you need to connect the turntable to your amp via a phono input connection. If no phono input available then a pre amp needs to be used between turntable and amp to up the signal. Cheers John. [email protected]

I have tried too hook up my Gemini XL-500, to a Sony Digital Audio DTS discrete 6ch Amp , but get very low volume, tuner & cd dvd, volume is fine, does this have anything to do with the ground?...

No! The amp must have a magnetic cartridge pre-amp to increase the sound level. If it has one it will say "phono" on the inputs on the back and have a "turntable" - or "Phono" selector switch. If it doesn't have one (many new surround amps don't) you won't be able to play it properly untill you get a "magnetic cartridge pre-amp". This will make the signal loud enough to be used on a normal aux imput of the Sony.

Ps-lx 430 1 speaker gives low volume. Otherwise speakers work with other components

This is an old-school turntable so it requires a PHONO input on the amplifier (or a Phono Preamplifier). It will not produce either enough volume or the correct frequency response without it. Google Phono RIAA

We want to connect a SL-B5 to a sourround system and the sound its not coming out what should we do?

is your surround system has a phono input? because most of the turntable can only work with the unit that has a phono input, phono input has a a built-in pre-amp. so if you're only hooking your turntable to an ordinary input then this might be the case, you won't hear any sound or sometimes weak sound.

I hooked up my new stanton t-60 turntable to an older sony amp that does not have a phono jack. i used a behringer pp400 preamp to connect the turntable to the amp. the sound is coming through with heavy...

Are you using the phono input on the Sony? If so, you're getting too much gain, you've already got a phono pre amp in the Behringer. Try using the tape or C.D. input. That should solve it.

Can i use a turntable with the sony str dh500 model? I am illiterate when it comes to hooking this stuff up. Planning to purchase this model only if I can hook up my record player as well as my cd player.

This particular unit only has 2 line level inputs for audio devices. You can use 1 for the CD player and the other for the Turntable. Please note that you will need a phono pre-amp for the turntable as the inputs on the receiver are line level. The preamp will amplify the phono level to line level.

PS-T3 connection to Sherwood 4105 Receiver

You need a phono stage (phono amp) between the turntable and receiver to boost the lower signal from the turntable. If your receiver has phono inputs, use those as there will be a built-in phono stage.

Very low audio output

Make sure your receiver has a PHONO input. If you are connecting it to a LINE or AUX input, then there is not enough signal to boost the sound coming from the turntable. Turntables require a PHONO input, because phono input's have a pre-amp on them, which boost the turntable signal. If you do not have a PHONO input on your receiver, you will need to buy a Phono Pre-Amp.

If you have a phono input, then you might have an issue with the turntable's RCA cables, or your cartridge may be at fault.
