It's located on the right side of the page but to get it to work you have to touch the pen to the left side and it will play no matter what or where it touches.

Does the sound come at all ? if not then check the speaker inside orr the audio amplifier for failure. However if the sound comes on at start up then the screen should work even with the fingers, if not there is a possiblity of non conduction . Try to remove off the battery and reset. Hope this works. Try cleaning the other cartridges contacts with alcohol and Q-tip. The major problem with the leappad is that the cartridges are failing after the warranty period is over.
