Amsung RB215BSSW /XAA 2006 refrig: the bottom door display quit working except for a couple of pixels. Refrigerator and freezer seems OK. I cannot use the supercool or other functions. Is there a module or part I can purchase? i worried about the wires that flex and twist each time the door is opened . Will it continue to function alright or the next time the power goes off will it turn into a toaster oven? Thank You

SOURCE: THe fridge is running OK. But the freezer is running @ 50 deg

Hi,

Here is a service manual for the samsung fridge mentioned:

Samsung service manual

Have a look at page 29 to page 34, the section titled self diagnostic's which will explain how to get the system to perform various self checks.

There could also be another section of interest on page 20 and page 31.

I'm not trying to make you **** lemons when you read these sections as they talk about operating controls but I'm just making sure that you havn't accidentally turned something off by accident.

Feel free to have a browse through but there iis a lot of information regarding how to take the fridge apart which i really doubt you need to do or would want to do.

SOURCE: The digital display resets to 0 F for BOTH the

The OF OF display is the OFF setting, used for display purposes, so the light and controls light, but the refrigerator does not run while it is on display at a dealer. Try pushing in and holding the top two buttons on the left side of the display for about 5 seconds at the same time to get it out of the display mode. You should be able to set temps then.

Testimonial: "Thank you MNTECH, that seems to have worked. (I have it on power freeze and power cool now to quickly return to the proper temps) Background: We had family & friends over using it for ice & cold water and one person unfamiliar with the feature was tapping the buttons. She must have hit the sequence to send it into "display" mode as you correctly surmised. Will check the frig in 20min to see if it is getting cold again. But I think that was it. (The display does now read -4F and 34F which are the temps I typically have it set at)"

Bottom freezer seem to be fine top refrig.is warm?

couple things to start off with is make sure the fan from freezer section is still blowing...may have to with door open hold down door switch as they sometimes stop running when you open door...if the fan is still running, then is the back wall of freezer frosted up you could have a defrost problem a defrost thermostat, or a heater issue... last make sure you have a clear passage from the freezer to the refrig such as the airflow gap or damper assembly which will be either a manually damper or a automatic damper//this is the flap that opens and closes usually by temperature to let air from freezer to refrigerator side....also make sure the unit all together is running properly the freezer is the last part to give you a problem as this is where the coolant actually starts then is pushed into refrigerator....few things for you to check repost if you have anymore questions....good luck

Freezer working but refridgerator at room temp. Door seal hot.

either the evaporator coil is iced up which means the defrost heater is bad,the defrost control is bad or the damper vent door which throttles cold air in isn't opening fully from the freezer to refrige, the evaporator fan isn't running or if electronically operated the main board behind the unit can be bad on these as this board controls all electrical issues

Freezer ok fridge not cooling

check the damper vent door between the refrige and freezer compartment and make sure its not frozen shut and the refrige control that you set the refrige temp with is opening and closing it correctly as this door channels the cold air in from the freezer

GE PROFILE REFRIGERATOR MOTHER BOARD PROBLEMS i REPLACED THE MOTHERBOARD AND IT STILL DOSEN'T KEEP THE PROPER TEMPERATURE. It varies from 36 to 45 degrees.

Go into the diagnostic mode on your touch display .
1) . Press any button on the display 1 time except the temp adjust buttons.
2) Press the temp up and down on both the freezer AND refrig (all 4 at the same time)
3) when 0's show , release the buttons and press any button except for the temp adjust buttons .
4) NOW , fress the temp adjust buttons until the freezer side displays 0 and the refrig side displays 7 . 0 and 7 is for the thermistors test .
5) After 0 and 7 display , press any button again except temp adjust , and this will start the thermistor check .
6) You will have 7 thermistor tests , indicated on the refrig display , starting at 1 , then 2 then .......
7) The feezer display will tell for the corresponding thermistor , indicated by the refrig display , if the thermistor p = pass , s = short , b = bad (replace board)

After determining if or which thermistor is bad , then adjust the display to 1 on freezer display and 6 on the refrig display . This ends the testing procedure and resets the refrig back to normal .

GE Profile Arctica Refrigerator Displays OFF PSS29NGNAWW

Sadly i would say the board is malfunctioning and needs replacement. There is nothing in the fridge/ freezer that if malfunctions can cause that.

Amana refrigerator warm

Chances are if they are getting cool but not cold-

1) the evaporator fan in the freezer is not running
2) Defrost heater has failed
3) Defrost sensor has failed
4) Defrost timer/refrigerator control has failed.

Check for ice build-up on the back wall of the freezer. If there is ice, unplug or turn the unit off for 6-8 hours with the doors open (put any food in a cooler with ice to maintain). Note water may come out of the refrigerator.
Plug the unit back in or turn it back on, close the doors, and check temperature after a couple of hours of operation. If all OK, you will need to have the above tested, or, if you know how to use a multimeter and can read a schematic/wiring diagram, I can instruct you on how to check the above.

Temperature 94 in refrig. normal in freezer

Check to see if refrigerator door is lower than freezer door. If so remove toe panel, (bottom front). Under refrigerator door hinge at bottom right is adjuster for door. Adjust upward so door is even. On some models when door is too low it causes light to stay on some times, raising ref. temps.
