My oven locked and I cannot get it to unlock. I had broiled something, took out the chicken, and it locked when i shut the door. I got the oven open but now I cannot get it closed because the door is still locked. What do I do?

I just set the oven to self clean, I quickly opened the door to make sure nothing was inside and the locking mechanism locked in place and I can't close the door. The panel shows locked. Is there something to reset? I tried pushing the cancel several times but to no avail. Tom

The oven locks when you either deliberately or accidentally hit the self-clean button. It is protecting you from the smoke and extremely high temperature needed to burn off the food drippings turning it to ash. You can turn off the breaker switch for the oven, when you turn it back on, see if the door opens again. If not, wait until the oven cools as it may have a temp control feature to prevents burns and therefore not allow the door to be unlocked until it is cool again.

No heat on convection or self clean

If you have been using the self clean feature, you have probably burned out or damaged the connections to the fan and the convection fan element or thermistor. NEVER EVER use the self clean feature.

Unlock oven door on model #FGGS3065PF

If the oven display is showing LOC, then the lockout feature was enabled. Press and hold the key pad with the padlock symbol for 3+ seconds. This is just below the Timer On/Off key pad and to the right of the Light key pad. You should see the word DOOR and the padlock icon flash until the door is unlocked and the control panel is released.

If the word DOOR and the padlock icon are lit, then the oven is in the self-clean mode. The lock should release after you cancel the self-cleaning cycle by pressing off and the oven cools down (at least one hour). Unfortunately, sometimes the heat of the self-clean cycle will damage the oven. Either the oven temperature sensor will not give the release signal or the door lock will not disengage. In that case, the oven needs to have the correct part serviced.

The documentation for the Frigidaire FGGS3065PF is available on the product page at Home Depot: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Frigidaire-Gallery-30-in-4-5-cu-ft-Slide-In-Gas-Range-with-Self-Cleaning-Convection-Oven-in-Stainless-FGGS3065PF/204759413 . See page 15 for the Oven Lockout feature. See page 28 for the self-cleaning information.

I hope this helps.

Frigidaire Gallery oven large element stopped working

Hello -

If you are referring to the bake element, but the broil element works then you would need to just replace the bake element. If both your bake and broil element does not work, then there might be a problem with the wiring communication. However, if the oven does not bake and/or broil but the cook top works, contact a professional to have the EOC (electronic oven control) diagnosed.

If tripping and turning the circuit breaker off for about 10 minutes does not work, contact Frigidaire. Sounds like the control board and/or door switch will need replacing.

Frigidaire self clean electric stove 'f9' message comes on when self cleaning

I had the same problem. All I had to do was clean around the door lock. A small bit of burnt food or something had gotten into the hole around the lock and prevented it from moving all the way into position. Took a tooth pick and 30 seconds of probing to clean it out. Works fine now.
