Lg - LDS5811ST Dishwasher OE Error Code

OE indicates a drain error. Your model number doesn't fit the usual pattern for LG dishwashers; LDT5665WW and LDS4821WW are a couple of recent model numbers.

To start diagnosing and fixing the OE error, first check the discharge hose. Make sure that it isn't clogged, kinked or improperly positioned. Make sure that the pipe or food disposer that the drain hose connects to isn't clogged. (Check into the rest of the drain pipe if needed.)

Next check that the float switch inside the dishwasher isn't blocked. This indicates the water level and if a foreign object is holding it open, the dishwasher will continue to try to drain the water.

Finally check for any blockage in the drain pump. Also check the pump for obvious damage. If the pump is damaged, replace it.

After you've checked and fixed (as needed) the above issues, try the dishwasher again. If the OE code recurs, then you need to replace the drain motor pump assembly.

If your dishwasher is under warranty, contact LG. Otherwise, please check and post your machine's model number. I can check to see if the parts are available.

Based on what it mentioned on the LG website it is an error indicating a drainage error. The solution might be to clean the drain filters at the base, check drain hose under kitchen sink and behind dishwasher for kinks or blockages. On make sure the kitchen sink drain is not blocked. Worst scenario is a clogged drain pump. you will have to provide the model number for any further analysis.

The OE error code indicates a "Drain Error". Check the drain hose for kinks or blockage. Check also the drain outlet of the sump inside the dishwasher for blockages.
If the above is all well, disconnect the electrical supply to the machine, close the water supply. Now check the wiring firstly for security and condition then the resistance of the drain motor by removing the electrical plug supplying power to the motor.
Measuring between the "Live" and "Neutral" pins of the plug on the motor side, the motor coil should have a resistance reading on a multimeter of between 20 and 40 Ohms, if not, the motor will have to be replaced.

OE - drain error - 5 minute time out drain time error. check your pump/filter for blockages. Clean out the trap from the bottom, something is jamming the drain motor.

OE is OUTLET ERROR.
More often than not, a blockage is in the pump(not that easy to get to and quite a long step by step process)
You might also find the blockage at the end of the drain hose, where it connects to the drain pipe- remove the hose clamp and inspect hose and spigot.

It is important to start where the drain hose connects to the drain. Probably connects indirectly to the garbage disposal. Look for blockage there and work your way back to the dishwasher.

IF you can't find a blockage, then it is time to remove your lower spray arm and the approximately 9 screws that secure the filter assembly to the sump floor. Rinse everything that you remove.

Using a flashlight, inspect the entire sump area for debris (watch out for broken glass!) Look closely where the drain pump is located. You will probably find some sort of blockage jamming that pump.

Reassemble and test. It is rare, but an OE error could be created by a failing drain pump motor. But try everything else first.
