For Battery Type: Ni-Cd Ni-MH Input Voltage: 110V-240V Smart Charger for Dewalt 10.8V ~ 20V Li-ion Battery For Brand: DEWALT Color: Black Brand New: A brand-new, unused, unopened, undamaged item in its original packaging
Can you (carefully!) measure the volts across them with a load (battery) and then the current through them by disconnecting one end, and if the charger is still working OK then they are V/I ohms, choose nearest value. 10k sounds very high, are you sure they aren't 1 ohm or less?
There should be a small white ceramic block on the firewall - this component cuts the battery voltage from 12 to 9 volts for the coil and ignition system. It has 4 wires and is called a ballast resistor. You may need a book with the wiring diagram to be able to test it. You should have battery voltage going in and something like 9 volts coming out. You can also run a wire with a fuse from the battery to the positive side of the coil to check the system. Disconnect the factory wire from the coil first.
check output voltage on charger label most chargers are not regulated so if it says 18 volt output it may put out 24 volts but if its putting out 51 volts it may have a short batteries will get warm but not hot replace charger
Could you check the output voltage of charger with multimeter? If you find output voltage then your charger is OK, Might be some problem with charging cirucit diagram of the laptop. If no output then replace your charger with new one having same specification.
Just remember to take your time and don't get nervous working on the computer. Please report back to the thread the results of your work.
