How to Rip Wii Backups: VIDEO GUIDE HERE>>> Making backups of your Nintendo Wii...

How to Rip Wii Backups: VIDEO GUIDE HERE>>>
Making backups of your Nintendo Wii games is a great investment that will likely save you some money. You will need a Wii running Homebrew to rip and then play your Wii backups. So, before attempting the actual backup get the Homebrew channel up and running. Having a Homebrew-capable Wii means that your console is able to play user created programs and games that are not Nintendo signed. This is legal, but cannot be taught here for copyright reasons (see Resources for more information).

Step 1 Turn on your Nintendo Wii and allow it to boot into your Wii dashboard. Insert your external hard drive into an open USB slot or insert your Wii SD card. Use the Wiimote to select the "Homebrew" channel and you will be shown the available Homebrew programs.
  • Step 2 Select "DVD Dumper" from the Homebrew channel. Press the "A" button to verify that you want to backup the game to your external hard drive or SD card. Press the right directional pad button until the screen says "Wii Single-Layer Disc" and press the "A" button.
  • Step 3 Insert your Wii game into the optical drive. Your Wii will read the disc and will ask you to press the "A" button to begin the rip. Press the "A" button and your Wii game will be placed onto the external hard drive or SD card.
  • Step 4 Wait as the process completes. DVD Dumper will tell you when the process is complete and you can exit the program. You can now use your Wii backups to play games from your external hard drive or SD card. You will need a program like "USBLoader" to play these backups (see Resources).

Wii play games continue to be locked

do you play the game by yourself or in two player mode? if you play in single mode, you only go for high scores and will stay locked. when you play with a friend, whenever you unlock a game, it is permenantly open, so you dont have to replay it.

When I play a wii game, the cursor jumps all over the screen. I have replaced the batteries and it does not help.

    Hey cubbyandmel,

Nintendo has developed a FAQ and step-by-step troubleshooting guide for Wii controllers that you may want to check out if replacing the batteries has not resolved the problem. You should be able to find the FAQ using the link I've provided below, but before visiting the site you may wish to double-check your console's sensitivity settings. If only one dot (or no dots) appear on the sensitivity screen, you may be encountering hardware problems with the Wii's sensitivity bar. If there are more than two dots however, your Wii may be detecting an additional infrared device or heat source in the area.
