I just bought a Wii on ebay and when I tried to connect to my internet it said the Parental Controls were on. How do I turn them off without the PIN #?

1. Navigate to the Wii Menu by pressing the HOME button on a Wii Remote and selecting "Wii Menu."
2. Look at the date and time displayed on the Wii Menu and ensure they are correct. If incorrect, they will need to be changed in order for you to complete the PIN reset process. You will not be able to reset the PIN until the date is correct.
3. Select the Wii Options icon in the lower-left corner of the Wii Channel Menu.
4. Select "Wii Settings."
5. Click on the blue arrow to reach the Wii System Settings 2 menu options.
6. Select "Parental Controls," then "Yes."
7. Enter your PIN or select "I forgot."
8. Answer your secret question or tap "I forgot."
   • If you know the answer to your secret question, enter it to unlock parental controls. The system will go to the change parental controls screen and you will be able to change your PIN.
     • Be sure to enter the secret question exactly as you originally typed it, as the answer is case sensitive.
   • If you don't know the answer to your secret question, tap "I forgot."
9. A screen will appear showing you a request code.
10. With that request code, you will need to do a request that involves charging US$0.50 from a credit card, to confirm that you're an adult. Or should your kids try to circumvent your parental code, it will show up on your credit card bill.

Go to parental controls on the wii setting. When it asks for your pin press "I forgot" and then it will ask you you question also press "I forgot". Then a screen will come up telling you your confirmation number. Write down the Confirmation number!!!)

When asking to unlock parental controls, it should ask for a pin. Since you don't know the pin it will ask for a security question. If you have Parental Controls turned on, but cannot remember your PIN, you will be prompted to select and answer a secret question that will allow you to change your PIN in the "Game Settings and PIN" menu

If you no longer remember your PIN, nor the answer to your secret question, then you will need to contact Nintendo Consumer Service for assistance.  To acces and change the parental control settings you SHOULD:

1. Access the Wii System Settings
   
2. Click on the blue arrow to reach the Wii System Settings 2 menu options.
3. Choose "Parental Controls" and select "Yes."
4. Enter the 4-digit PIN and select OK. If you have forgotten the PIN, select " I forgot" to answer the secret question. (Answers to the secret question are case sensitive.) You will now be in the Parental Controls menu, and can change the following items:

1. Turn on your Wii console and go into the Wii Options Menu
2. Click on Wii Settings and click the right arrow until you see "Parental Controls"
3. Say "Yes" to "Change Parental Controls?"
4. Click on "I forgot" when it asks you to enter your pin
5. It will ask you for your secret question, click on "I forgot" again
6. The screen will read "If you have forgotten both your PIN and secret question, call the customer service number listed in the Wii Operations Manual and provide the confirmation number below. You will be issued a master key." 7. Instead of calling the phone number, enter the key into the confirmation key box on http://wii.marcansoft.com/parental.wsgi 8. Click Get reset code 9. Enter code on the next screen.

The pin will be printed at the base of the router. Pin number cannot be changed. If its asking for security key then its the wireless password its asking.

Go to wii options, located in the lower left corner.*
Then go to Wii Settings. On the second page, somewhere it should say Internet. If Parental Controls, enter you PIN and continue. Then look for a wireless connection.

In the case of parental controls, you will need to go into the wii settings to unlock them totally. Head on over to http://wii.marcansoft.com/parental.psp and enter in the confirmation number you will get once you have specified that you forgot the pin, and the answer to secret question

(Do make sure your wii is set to whatever today's date is, as the master password completely depends on it.)
