Make sure the AV cable is working properly. Try using another one and see if that fixes the issue. Also make sure the inputs in your TV are tightly screwed in, sometimes loose connectors can cause the TV to go black and white. If it turns out that it is not a connection problem, then it is probably the Wii itself and should be dealt with by Nintendo.

I had the same problem. Instead of going directly into the TV, I tried plugging the component cable into the auxiliary jack in my digital cable box and that seemed to fix it. Works great now.

our wii turned black and white, and i fixed it by switching my AV onto AV1 setting, somehow it had gone on to AV25 and this had turned it black and white, so check out your AV menu options on your tele

This is because UK wii's use a PAL signal for video display. If your TV does not support the signal, it's always going to be black and white. You might need to try a different TV.

Check if the tv has different types of AV settings, as this affects whether the wii plays in black and white or colour.

Your TV goes black & white, because your Wii could be NTSC or PAL which. If your Wii is PAL and your TV is NTSC then the TV will show a blac and white color. Since NTSC is for North America and PAL for Asia
