I have Zebra tlp 2844 printer and Windows 7 OS. I have installed Zebra TLP2844 and ZDesigner TLP 2844 drivers and I want to use ELP to print text, barcode etc. Printer is connected to computer via USB. I tried everything, to send text from app using Win API, to map it to lpt1 and send files from cmd prompt, to change drivers settings, but notjing works. Printer 1) doesn't react, 2) prints nothing, empty label goes out and 3) prints command like a plaint text. Anyone has a suggestion?

Have you tried creating the barcode / label using the ZDesigner software? It is available free on their website and I'm sure you'll find it easy to use. Hope this helps!
To send text to printer in dos command you should first install a driver from www.seagullscientific.com
then in the properties you can use send file to printer.
To send the files from command :
Check if the program ssdal.exe has been correctly installed.
to have help use ssdel help send at dos prompt
to send the file
ssdal send filename printername should do the trick
hope it helps
Please follow this link for download a driver http://www.zebra.com/id/zebra/na/en/index/products/printers/desktop/tlp2844.html and you should open youtube.com and type your question in search option then after you can see there are many video so you click on one by one video clip and learn how can you solve your problem?
The TLP2844 can print from any windows application providing the application can use a windows printer driver. The page size oof the .pdf needs to be the same size as the physical label size.
The red light means out of paper or ink ribbon. Some people chose not to use the ink ribbon and get thermal direct paper which requires no ink ribbon but the printer has to be told by the driver not to expect ribbon or the red light will come on. Also not having the correct paper height set in the driver will make the red light come on as well so check the advanced tab in the properties of the driver then click printing defaults. In the ZDesigner driver height and width are entered there. In the zebra universal, click paper output and enter the size.
de-install then re-install the printer driver.
also if it has multiple interfaces (such as serial and parallel) be sure to load the appropriate driver.
The printer only understands EPL code. (Eltron Programming Language) If you are trying to print text from DOS it wont understand (interpret) the txt codes.
To verify that the printer is working.
Open a DOS box, start the dos editor. Type Edit. Dos editor will open.
Type a single capital letter U. and print. Send to printer. The printer will print a configuration label.
EPL code to reset printer is
^default.
If you want to print a text file. use the Zebra Universal Driver. Zebra TLP2844. Open any windows application. E,G, Notepad. type text and send it to printer. Print as normal.
