Hi, i have the same problem, i replaced a number of caps & it worked for about 8 months then started to come on intermittently, if you heat the small upright board (top left of panel) the tv operates ok. If anybody has a replacement board i would be interested.

So I just bought a new ysus and y buffer boards for my lg 50pa6500ug but I'm worried the PSU may be faulty is there any way to check if it's sending out to much power so that it won't refry the ysus

Good concern. Without hooking up PS to other components, take the appropriate voltage readings and see how they spec out after you insert the PS. U need to get some schematic or something to give you the info you need so you can check out.

Or just get a new one - they are usually much less expensive than the other boards.

I have a Sherwood RD-6405 receiver and when I turn it on from standby to on, it stays on for about 5 sec and then turns back to standby automatically. I found out on the net that it could be due to a

If electronics were that easy, I would nit have had a job for all these years. To do a correct diagnose, I usually have to hook up some extra tools, like a multimeter and / or an oscilloscope A sound generator, to check the amplifier and so on. But in the receivers you can find lots of causes, why a security kicks in.
I don't think it will be possible to repair this over some e-mails or messages here. You really need a repair engineer for this. Sorry.

Hi, I have an LG42" LCD tv and the red light will

IT sounds like the power supply, yes with a digit meter and some basic knowledge of electronics, you can check and see if you have 110-120v ac coming in to tv and check on board to see if you have low voltage DC going from power supply to main board. You will need a schematic of this set to check proper voltage, but to make sure the PS is putting out then just check from pin to pin if all voltages are low and non 12 or 24 then PS suspect.

Powa Force drill charger is dead

Powaforce battery charger.

  1. Measure the dc output (with multimeter) on female plug. Should read ±16 – 20V DC. If no voltage here open charger and measure 220v AC on input wire before transformer. No voltage faulty input cable or 3pin plug. If ok check for dc voltage after transformer. If transformer faulty (not worth repairing) replace with same dc volts and amp (important)output. Check now output cable.
  2. If voltage is on cable but base does not light up, probable faulty capacitor. If light is on but does not charge, probable rectifier that gives too little amps.
  3. Any good tv repair technician can help you. My tv tech already fix about 9 of my torch and drill chargers. Parts usually about R5 – R10.
ps. email me the specs of your charger the input, output, the current (MA) and the voltage 14.v or 21v to [email protected]

Hitachi rear projection TV clicks when you turn it on, no picture

No schematic, major short, usually the power supply or high voltage circuit, nothing you yourself can do. Pro repair about $450.00. If your in electronics replace the HV transistor first.. then??

Have you tried googling the model number, funai is no help if you dont have a contract with them. Finding schematics for their powersupplies is hard, a majority of the time its better to just buy another ps because many of the parts they use wont cross to NTE. Are the voltages coming out of the ps just high? If they are one of the boards might be bad, I had a funai tv that had a bad board and was keeping the rest of the tv from powering up so the volatges I was getting were high due to the lower load. Also check for a schematic for that specific panel as funai uses LG panels in their stuff.
