My viking dishwasher has both the normal wash and econo wash lights flashing. I can not turn it off, or stop them (even by turning of the breaker). Any ideas?

You may have a bad breaker. Have you tried replacing the breaker? I would not think you heating element was bad unless it didn't heat up. If the pump works at all then the pump should be ok. If it does not work and you have power going to the pump motor then it may be causing a phase to ground resulting in the tripped breaker.
There is a button configuration that you can press to make the unit reset on some you would close the door and push normal wash heated dry then normal wash then heated dry on others it would the econo wash button then heated dry then the econo/ heated dry this pattern starts the unit and then puts it into the drain cycle and resets the control which allows you to start washing again. If you can name off all the buttons you have I can tell you exactly which ones to perform this reset in the unit. I await your reply Rick p.s this also happens on whirlpool models as well right after the warranty runs out so you end up paying the high service charge for a tech to walk in you door push a few buttons then collect a fee over 169.00 which is ridiculous.
Based on your post, I suspect you mean the drain pump is running as is common for Asko built machines such as your Viking with this scenario/error. I have good news...It is likely nothing very serious, but the "resolve" requires some investigation on your part.
What this usually means is the control has indicated a overfill. All the indicators flashing is the error code for overfill/drain error. **before proceeding turn the dishwasher power off via the home breaker panel, or unplug it from the wall if that is possible...most are hard wired to the home electrical...safety first**
The first thing to do is remove the toe panel/kick plate and inspect the base for water. There will likely be water present.
With the aid of a sponge, towels, or a wet-dry shop vacuum, absorb the water from the base, that should restore normal operation...it should be known that if you leave the unit for a few days, the water in the base will evaporate hence appearing as everything is fine again...if any other problem/leak does exist it will return.
If the unit works fine after resetting the power/breaker and soaking up any water present, it can likely be chalked up to a drain back-up or obstruction in the drain hose or pump...(it could mean a faulty drain pump or a inlet water valve, so you'll need to pay close attention the next few times you run it)
**The float is primarily the last ditch safety to prevent disaster in the event of a overflow, back-flow, or leak underneath the unit activates the pump-out non-stop letting you know to service or call for service to the unit**
Hope this helps move you forward, or even better resolves the issue altogether. Let me know of course, I will help you move further if necessary. Good luck.
You will have to check if the dishwasher is stuck in the drain cycle or wash cycle.
The normal and economy lights flashing means there is flooding in the unit.
Reset the unit by pressing START button for 4 secs. If the flashing does not stop then you have to call the technician. There may be a leakage which is causing the flood switch to activate.
From another link, clean light flashes 7 times. Turn off breaker for dishwasher, wait 5 minutes, turn back on.
with dishwasher door open, push high temp, energy save dry, high temp, energy save dry, then close door, open door, press cancel and then Normal wash cycle. Dishwasher Starts!!!!!! Save myself several hundred $. Was about to buy new one from Lowes!!!!!! Thanks everyone!
