I started setting up an intel d865perl today and i'm pretty sure i did everything right, i followed diagrams read manuals and such but when i plug in the power cord it immediately starts and there a green light that pops up on the motherboard and the fan blows and the power button has no effect whatsoever and the power led light comes on and the hdd light so please help me

My intel suggests the TriGem Dreamsys uses an Intel D865PEMA motherboard,

click start control panel on the left select hardware and sound then select manage audio devices then recording you should see a microphone right click select enable windows 7

you will see earphones with a speaker among a list set up a microphone headset with microphone then next and next again you should see your earphones with microphone being configured


click start control panel sounds and audio devices select advanced there might be a tick in the mute box untick it or select audio from the microphone drop down list

make sure you have the right one selected and in the volume box make sure the microphone box has a tick in it or
select the voice tab

make sure that you have the right media selected also
select volume make sure the box for microphone has a tick in it

After reinstalling the software & you're sound does not seem better than the built in sound chip may be going bad.
Other factors can also cause the effects you are having. Run windows system defrag. Also run windows Disk cleanup. These tools are found in windows System tools. Lastly you can buy & add a PCI sound card into an emty PCI slot to bypass the built in sound card. If you choose to do this you will need to enter the bios & disable the built in sound device.

Hi nkda2000, this is as close as I could find for power schematics. Intel D865PERL

(There is no Intel D865PERLL board). Sure it's a typo. Have done searches for D865PERLL & found it (Not on Intle's web site) but when looking at the specs it's listed as D865PERL. (One L ) not two.

I hope the Technical Product Specification pdf can help you check the power on the motherboard.
