Hello, Have a Maxx Kashmir - 7 years old. When the main water pump is running for 1-5 minutes it sounds like there is a grinding noise that starts. How can I remove the pump and purchase another. I don;t want to discconnect the wrong pipe. One has a bunch of wires to it to the tub tubing (temp or water level sensor) The electrical is easy. Thanks for any help you can offer.

It sounds to me that there is air in the pump, remove the nozzle if possible and pull trigger until the air works thru the pump.

It sounds like the main circulation water pump bearings are damaged.

How old is your machine ? and what maintenance have you done over time such as replacing the shower curtain located at the pourring end of the hot water ? I had too very loud noise coming occasionnally from the stainless steel rack holding the cup while coffee is delivered. If your ground coffee is too fine it will stop flow during making a shot. Is water coming out when no coffee is placed in the portafilter.The water pump on this machine is a cheap pump that has to be replaced over time. Mine is 7 years old and has delivered four cups of expresso everyday of the year, and still working.

Sounds like something with bad bearings. Check in the area of air conditioner compressor or power steering and yes water pump.even the belt tightener will do that.

I had this same problem that cropped up about 6 months after I purchased the ice maker. When it pumped water into the ice tray, the water pump would make a loud grinding noise. I inspected the pump and found that the impeller was in contact with the bottom of the pump housing. I partially disassembled the pump and inserted a small washer I fabricated out of electrical tape to enlarge the gap between the impeller and the bottom of the pump housing. I also took care not to over-tighten the screws when reassembling the pump. The grinding noise went away completely, and it's back to normal operation now. Even if you have no idea what you're doing, like me, it's a 15 minute fix with practically zero materials cost.

I have no idea what caused the problem originally, unless there was a washer that disintegrated over several months' worth of use.

The water pump bearings could be going out and they will make a grinding noise.The water pump doesn't always leak when the bearings are going out.

Most likely the motor/pump assembly is worn out and grinding. If the machine is less than five years old it is under warranty. If over five years old, the repair part alone is about $150 not including labor.
