Format it again, and choose HPFS, instead of FAT32.

I just purchased an 8 GB flash drive sandisk and when I went to download my outlook, which is a little ver 4 gb, it is telling my I don't have enough space on the flash drive. I literally just opened it....

Try doing a full format of the drive. (Right-click on drive => Click format).

If you have the option format using the NTFS file system (default in vista/windows 7) and make sure to uncheck "Quick Format". Remember to back-up your data on the drive beforehand.

If this doesn't solve your problem the flashdrive itself may be faulty. Return it and have it replaced.

Hope this helps,

I have the exact same problem.

Fat32 File system is limited to just under 4 GB. I've tried to format using a different file system but no success.

This isn't really a solution but at least it explains what's happening.

I have a SanDisk Cruzer USB 8GB that is only allowing me 1.33 GB of space - says 6.594 GB used and there's nothing on here - how do I gain that storage space back? tx

There might be a hidden file(s) on the drive that are taking up that space. Open the drive in My Computer, click Tools > Folder Options... On the View tab, click Show hidden files and folders. Then check the drive to see if any hidden files or folders are present.

You can also try formatting the drive. Right click the drive in My Computer and click Format...
