Click on round windows button (on the bottom right) > right click on "computer" > manage > select disk management > if you can see the flash drive in on the right hand side right click on it > format.
have you tried to reformat the flash drive? go to my computer right click on your 8GB USB drive and select format, this should give you a real clean start.
Try doing a full format of the drive. (Right-click on drive => Click
format).
If you have the option format using the NTFS file
system (default in vista/windows 7) and make sure to uncheck "Quick
Format". Remember to back-up your data on the drive beforehand.
If
this doesn't solve your problem the flashdrive itself may be faulty.
Return it and have it replaced.
1. right click on my computer then manage
2. click on disk management then right click on the drive which you want to format then click format it will forcely format your card.
copy the files to you're pc, and if you use windows just go in my computer and right click on the flash disk icon and click format check the quick format box and the press format.
There might be a hidden file(s) on the drive that are taking up that space. Open the drive in My Computer, click Tools > Folder Options... On the View tab, click Show hidden files and folders. Then check the drive to see if any hidden files or folders are present.
You can also try formatting the drive. Right click the drive in My Computer and click Format...
