Had the same problem but it was the part on the inside of the door on top that locks the door and tells the machine that it is locked so that it can spin. the part is not expensive and is easy to change.
Front loading Neptune door won't lock therefore no spin cycle
Clean out your filter after ref. to user's manual. Try some WD40 on the door mechanism (on machine), lock & unlock door 5 or 6 times while machine is off.

two problems here,
your shaft seal is running on its last leg
the sound is unmistakeable and always described the same...
the water issue, you probably have a trickle leak through the cold water valve
the mixing valve is quite an easy repair, but I would have to say with all honesty, it probably time for a new machine
the hub seal is a tub replacment call
2 hrs of labor if hes good
and the tub runs around 500.00 dollars
