First, the battery should be charged fully, and it should be a LiIon battery pack from Kodak, not alkaline AA or NiMH AA.

Also, if it is losing the date, there is sometimes an internal battery that has to be changed at the factory for $80 or so.

That's the way my 14.1 Megapixel camera is.

One can check with Kodak.com to make sure though:

My samsung L830 camera has jammed with the lens open and

Just had this happen to my L100. First, take out the battery and wait a couple hours for everything to cool down and discharge. Then place the battery back in. Then plug the USB cord into the camera and PC. Then turn the camera on and it should be okay. Just worked for mine.

My samsung l830 camera lens is stuck open and when i press the power button it beeps 3 times and remains blue then does nothing

If the lens on the camera is stuck out, look to see if it's a little crooked. If it is, try to gently straighten it. If it still won't retract, try to gently push it in as you turn the power on.
If it won't turn on (the green light blinks and it beeps 3 times) push and hold the 'power' button and the 'play' button at the same time for a few seconds - it worked for my S730. Good luck!

Camera turns on then immediately turns off

Quick turnoff is normally a symptom of low battery power. Make sure that you have fresh/charged batteries in the camera. If fresh power doesn't solve the problem you will need professional service on the camera.

Camera does not go on

Lens errors (E18 errors on Canons) are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ...

Here's some things that you can do to try to correct it. They only seem to work for less than 50% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try:

Problem with samsung L100

Ok, hello everyone who has bought the walmart camera ( im sorry it is not working ). The camera is designed with a sensor that detects if the lens is fully closed or not, now this may sound wrong to you but all that must be done is push that lens back into the camera, while you press the power button ( release as soon as you feel the the motor gearing up and you wil be ok) this solution works for most Samsung cameras, although the lg100 is what i just tried it on like 5 seconds ago. Also what this is from is a low battery or something actually wrong with the camera itself. The low battery cannot close the lens all the way.

Hope this helps, oh yeah wickedbadawesome.com = . thats me ( when i get that dumb site up and finished check it out)

Lens stuck open

hey, I had the same problem when I accidentally droped my camera, some parts in the mechanism are probably broken or jammed.

Most likely repairs required.
