Either side of the body are two round plastic caps with a slot in under these are a spring attached to the brush, what you need to do is unscrew the cap with a small screwdriver or the end of the collet nut spanner, and withdraw the spring and carbon brush, check the length of the brush and replace if worn down, replace the brush cap and run the tool without load for five minutes to bed the new brushes in. (if the brushes are ok make sure you replace them in the same orientation as removed).
