My Bosch maxx 900 front loader won't drain water either during a cycle or on a drain cycle.

  • Anonymous Sep 05, 2010

    Hey macmarkus,

You were right - the pump was blocked. The trouble is that it's blocked by the rubber seal from around the impeller.

The seal must have worked loose and it looks like the whole pump assembly needs replacing. From the looking around I've done, it's a professional job and about a $300 fix.

As a result, I bought a new washing machine on the weekend. I'll sell the old one of ebay for parts.

    Thanks for your help.

Hello David,

Welcome to FixYa.

Based on your description you likely have a clogged drain pump/filter.

Here`s how to check since that would be the first logical place to start.

1) **Turn off the power or unplug the cord from the dryer or wall...ehichever applies to your set-up...safety first**

2) Water removal...remove toe panel. There you will find a small hose with a plug in the end for draining the pump.

3) Now bleed pump drain...A shallow pan is handy for this step.

3) remove pump filter, but be careful if you don't have a shop-vac or a shallow pan and towels you may My Bosch maxx 900 front loader won't drain water - c00cf70.jpg/i>

*Once you`ve reached this point you may have trouble removing the filter if it is really plugged up with debris. You might have to wiggle it back and forth as you twist and pull.

4) When you get the filter out, visually inspect inside the pump thoroughly with a flashlight and clean it out really well. It won`t take much to prevent these from draining. i.e. a penny, hair pin, buttons etc.

Let me know if you found anything in the pump and how you make out after that.

If you removed any obstruction, simply reassemble the unit making sure the filter is screwed in tight, run a quick rinse cycle to test for leaks before putting the toe panel back on and you should be good to go...save for any leaks.

There are other possible factors that can prevent the unit from draining or spinning out items properly, but we`ll cross that bridge when and if we get there.

Thank you for choosing FixYa, keep me posted on your situation.

Hey glad I could help, but sorry you had to purchase whole new washer...a mixed blessing maybe ?

If you post it on ebay and disclose it only requires a drain pump I'd think it should sell easily.

Thanks again for coming and accepting my solution. ( I don't like the way these sentences run together when posting via my iphone...sorry about that )

    Regards,

    Macmarkus :)

How do I find clean the filter of our bosch maxx classic 900 rpn front loader? I cant even find the filter.

You don't. Washing machines don't have a handy accessible filter...

Check the owner's manual that came with the machine.

Motor keeps running. Water heats fine. Help

One of the reasons for motor not draining during normal cycle is the check valve is stuck. It is meant to return to normal during drain cycle but close during wash. I think the cancel is resetting it and letting water out.

Bosch maxx 7 varioperfect

On the bottom front there is a panel, that panel is the 'sump' area. Make sure that is cleaned out so that all water can eject during rinse cycle.

Bosch Maxx 900 front loader won't drain water. Cannot remove filter lid by turning anticlockwise at left front bas of machine. It turns only a fraction but will not undo.

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
Had the same problem with our Bosch, cap would not even turn!
Suggestions-
pour anticalc/limescale fluid into any gap there is around the cap. Empty the machine and you can switch it off providing the door is open! Then pour the contents of at least 2 sachets of proprietary anticalc powder/liquid into the drum direct together with a kettle full of boiling water. Leave overnight at the very least. The following day run just a spin cycle as then there will be no water diluting the mix. This mix will go through the filter and motor and is likely to help release the filter/cap. If you feel like it, do the overnight again. If nothing else it will ensure that the heater element is clean!
I had to spend a couple of hours gently turning the cap back and forth until it finally released its hold- but the filter did not remain attached to the cap by its rubber ring. More patience, anticalc fluid and all was revealed!
I now run an anticalc clean regularly............which reminds me..............!
If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

I have an error code E6 on my Bosch Front Loader Maxx Washing Machine, can you please advise what this error is and how to fix??

Hello there
Normally this is a drainage problem code
Unplug the machine and wait for 30 min
During this time Remove the cover on the front bottom right corner or the front cover at the bottom , use the small hose that is attached to the pump to drain the water, from the pump then unscrew the large drain cover and remove the blockage from the drain pump. and any additional hoses then reattach the hoses and then plug in after the 30 minutes is up then press the cancel button and test ...Test by pouring 1L water into section II in the top and setting the machine to 'drain'. it should beging to drain

The softner tray on my front loader Maxx Clasic BOSCH does not drain - it fills with water which, together with softener, remains in the tray. Heeeeelp!

Hello, W/D here.

Remove the tray, and clean the tubes on the bottom side of the dispensers and the mating tubes on the machine. This should put you right.

Best regards, --W/D--
