I have a GE Model 28111 Series DECT 6.0 Cordless Handset Speakerphone System. How can I stop flashing light indicating New Voice Mail, once I've retrieved said voice mail, and cancelled it. My two phones keep flashing, unless, I remove the battery. What else can I do? Thanks I have internet phone service. I have retreived my voice mail and now the blue light on my (ge model 28111) phone will not stop flashing, indicating "new voice mail". There is nothing in the users guide about voice mail. Press "mute" key to access menu, press the up or down arrow key labeled "caller ID- volume" until you get to "handset setup", press the "mute" key again, press the down or up arrow until you have "defaultsetting" selected, press "mute" key, press "1", then press "mute" once more. At this point your handset will reset clearing the indicator for all the handsets. I've had to do this twice on my phones and it worked every time.
What worked for me was to call my phone from another phone and leave myself a voicemail. I then called into my voicemail, listened to and deleted the message. This reset my handsets so the New Voicemail indicator is no longer flashing.

did you set the voicemail to be deleted from the phone service server? that would explain the flashing light..
I am in the Army and I move a lot. I am always setting up new voicemail accounts and experience this problem every single time. Make sure you have no messages on the base, and none on the service like comcasts automated messaging. If those are clear call you provider and have them reset your voicemail and status indicating light. Works everytime!

There is a Do Not Disturb button on the base unit. Press it to turn the feature on and off.

I'm not sure from your description exactly what your problem is, but I have the 28112, and it has a handset menu command for registration, and one for deregistration. If this sounds similar to yours, I'd suggest trying the registration command. If that fails, try deregistering, and then try to register again. I've also heard that these units somehow reset after 20 seconds in the recharge cradle, but I haven't seen that actually appear to work.
If you have problems getting the menu command to work, write back with more info and I'll see if I can figure it out based on what my phone does.

What worked for me was to call my phone from another phone and leave myself a voicemail. I then went in and retrieved and deleted that voicemail. Once I hung up from my voicemail service my handsets reset about 10 seconds later.

I am having the same problem with the ge 28821. The indicator light will not go off after I have taken the voice mails off the phone. Any ideas? The user maual doesn't have any.

I had the same problem with our phones. I went into phone set up and set it to the default setting and the message cleared and the light stopped flashing.
