How do I get a replacement chain for my Remington 8'' Pole Saw (Part No 104301-S)
That is not a valid part number (also 8SC NLA Remington & Master). If the pole saw is an RPS96 (LNT-2) with the original or equivilent 8" bar, YOU can make an informed decision based on the following:
"Remington; LNT-2; 8"; All; All; All". You are presented with 3 choices on the following table.

The above results are for an original or equivalent (34 drive link chain to fit) 8" bar. Only YOU can determine your level of expertise, how much risk you are willing to assume and choose one of part numbers listed. Once you make your choice it can be found on the Internet or through local merchants. If your local outlet does not handle Oregon your choice can easily be converted to other chain manufacturers part numbers. I suggest a few phone calls to save you time and gasoline. Given the Oregon part number and your assurance of a purchase, if my store, your chain would be waiting when you walked in the door.

I went to the link, input "RPS96" as a model number, eventually selected the "View Illustrated Parts Diagram" link. There is a pole assembly pictured (use the parts diagram as a disassembly/reassembly guide) but is applicable to only certain model numbers. It is $45 (please call and ensure it is the entire assembly) plus $20 for shipping.

RemingtonPower is no longer in production, and parts are becoming difficult to find. $65 is a substantial start toward a replacement saw. Eventually you will need parts that are not available.

I had nothing to do with stopping production and should not be punished because you are unhappy with Remington. Whatever you decide Good Luck. HTH

  • Clicked the RPS96 - 8 Ft. Electric Telescoping Pole Saw "View Model" link.
  • Clicked "View Illustrated Parts Breakdown" I think you want item 7, 107551-01, Pole Saw Assembly
  • Clear the "Model #:" window; type “107551-10” (coupling nut) in the “Search for your parts by Part #:” window and click search. NLA (Internet search for “Remington 107551-01 also NLA at every site that lists it.)
  • There is also a part number "111304-01" (thumb latch) depending on the pole you have installed. It is NLA at Remington but appears to be available at "Master parts"

There are 8, 10, 12 and 14" chains on the IPB depending on the actual model pole saw. RemingtonPower is no longer in production, and parts are often difficuilt to find. All 4 chains listed are available and range form $12.92 to 15.95 plus shipping and handling. You can take your saw (or just the chain) to a local saw outlet and have one fabricated in about 5 minutes. It is rarely more expensive at a local outlete and you save shipping and handling fees. HTH

You've got the one version of the Remington Pole Chain saws that doesn't have a separate parts breakdown online.

However, here's a owners manual for your pole saw and a parts breakdown that can be used for most replacement parts, as the RPS-96 is a similar version of your model.
