OKay, I'm a little late on this, sorry. I had to search for the answer myself. I couldn't find it. HOWEVER< after dinking around with it for a few (hours) I found the solution:
1.Turn it on(even if it's dead).
2. Plug it into your computer.
3. wait for the scren with all of the 'zzzz's' shows up, showing that it's connected, but sleeping.
4. hold the PLAY button until you see the screen shut off. Now the screen will turn on, you will see the GPX logo, then the option to 'play'.
5. hit the menu button, and the media player will show up. Once that shows up, you will notice that the battery meter, after a few moments, will start to climb and fall, signifying that it's charging.

I hope that this helps; I can't say that it's the easiest way, but it's the only way that I could find that worked for me. I tried several. I almost returned it because nothing worked and I couldn't find an answer. I hope this helps you, and btw this is my first answer, so sory if I did this wrong!

It uses a usb cable that comes with the product.
One end to the device and the other to your computers usb port.

The device doesn't need a driver to connect to the computer. Do you have the power switch on the player to the on position?

How do i put music on my pm3 player

  • Jeffrey Oct 30, 2012

Connect the mp3 player to the computer, open "My Computer" (Windows) or "Finder" (Machintosh) and you should see a removable drive, double click it and you will be in the player's memory storage for pictures, movies, music, etc.

SOURCE: HOW DO I CHARGE MY GPX ML640S MP3 PLAYER

When you connect the MP3 player to your computerwith the supplied USB cable then computer detects the player as an externalstorage device or a Removable disk, you can then view the folder on your MP3player.
This will also charge your MP3 player.

I have a ml640s mp3 player and it wont charge not even in the wall and i did it overnite any solutions

Your battery is probably damaged or dead. I suggest replacing it. or the port is messed up on the player.

Can nor get my brand new mp3 GPX ML640s to charge, at all. I have it hooked up and all it does is show that it's sleeping ( zzzzzzzzz) along side a computer. As I continue to advise of my problem, it does...

Just turn the switch on the side to the on position (this will connect the battery and allow charge to flow) then connect the player to your computer. It will charge just fine then.

Problem charging my gpx ml759b

The GPX ML759B has a Lion-Polymer rechargeable battery which does wear out pretty quickly especially when playing MP4 Videos. If your unit is 18months, you have done well!
If you have tried charging charging your player in a couple manners as stated, and you are happy that the charging system is working, then I strongly suspect that you will need to replace the internal LiOn-Polymer battery (whcih usually have a max life of 500 charges).
If you cannot replace the internal battery yourself, you may find that it may not be an economical option for a relatively cheap MP4 player.
