Canon Multipass700 printer. Getting Alert! Wrong Cartridge. The cartridge is the same as before the error message, and is full of ink. Have purchased new cartridge Canon BCIebk and still receive error message what else can I do?
Hi my printer was working properly. Loaded a driver on a macbook to print on this printer as soon as I hit print it came up with Warning! Wrong cartridge. The same cartidges were in it before I tried the apple print. Now neither my apple or my IBM will print because I can't make the Warning wrong cartridge go away.
Thanks

I didsn't change anything on my printer. It was working fine. Then later I got the "wrong cartridge" message. I will try this solution and see if it helps.I didsn't change anything on my printer. My printer was working fine, when I relaced the black ink cartridge it came up with wrong cartridge, and it is the exact same kind. I cleaned the contacts with a softcloth and a little rubbing alcohol, and it still shows the same message. Even turned it off and disconnected the power and turned it back on and it still shows the same message. Please let me know what else to do. It was the first time I had to replace an ink cartridge. After doing so, I received an alarm blinking (orange) with E 2 flashing continuously. Nothing I do will bypass this warning, making the machine unworkable.

If you are absolutely sure that cartridge is installed correctly, the contacts where cartridge may be dirty. Clean gently with soft lint free cloth with small amount of rubbing alcohol and retry. If problem persists the contacts may have been damaged.

Cannon has made their ink cartridges in a way that you have to buy new
ones every couple of refills. This is a way to bypass that..worked on my
MP145.

have a nice day
remove all cartridges leaving printhead intact. close cover, turn off turn on, let power up, error message should be gone. open cover, reinstall cartridges if you cleaned your print head like I did you'll probly eventually end up getting a new one anyway, due to the color variations but I can at least print text.
I had the same problem. I removed the cartridges and then the printerhead. I cleaned the printerhead with a piece of cloth and then replaced it and then the cartridges. This seems to have fixed the "wrong cartridge" problem for now. I was told by a friend that if the problem persits, replacing the printerhead may be a more permanent solution, but no guarantee.
its not a true fix but I had the same issue. I turned off printer and slightly moved the paper thickness lever over a few inches. I turned it back on and the cartridge error was off. I do get a pop up from my printer program on the computer every time I initiate a print job asking to correct the lever, I click OK and it prints. I know its aRube Goldberg fix but I need this printer every day for work and for now it works.
I have the multipass mp700 and have just experienced the same message ..... wrong cartridge. After reading the manual, from the disc, it means that there's something wrong with the print head, most likely needs cleaning, but it won't clean because the printer is sending a malfunction message. I will be trying to clean the head and if that doesn't fix it then I'll buy a new print head. Good luck with the problem.
This may seem to be a stupid question but, is it the right cartridge?
Is it a genuine Canon cartridge or an aftermarket replacement that "suits" your printer? If the latter, try getting a genuine Canon cartridge and install that and see if you get the same error message.
If you still get the same message, take it to a repairer and get them to check it out for you.
a) Verify the right color cartridge is in the right slot.
b) Verify that the cartridge is fully inserted (Press on front of cartridge) top gently to ensure the "Electrical" contacts make good contact.
c) Turn printer off/on
