My Sony cordless handset doesn't work and displays "S/C Invalid".

  • Anonymous Sep 01, 2010

I tried the MNfisherman "recipe" twice but it did not solve the problem. The handset still displays "S/C Invalid" and also, it "sqeaks" with a shrill noise when I lift it from the base. Please do NOT send me further input if there is an additional charge. Also you did NOT reply to my complaint that you offered me advice for a discounted $5 BUT charged my VISA for $10. Any answer for that?
It is understood that I contacted you ONLY for a single-problem answer and NOT for a "subscription." Therefore you may not in any way access my credit card in the future without my express permission.

  2. Unplug the AC power adapter from the telephone base.
  3. Disconnect all the telephone lines from the telephone base.

I do not have any control over the charging. Fixya themselves are in charge of that. If you need to contact their billing department, you may scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the "contact" link.

I do believe you have faulty electronical components in your phone. That is likely due to bad capacitors as I stated before which will need to be tested with a meter.

The cordless handset is not working

I suppose you put the handset back on the base unit so that they synchronise first.

Cordless handset doesn't work, a new battery doesn't fix the problem. Where can I purchase a compatible cordless handset to work with this phone 27958GE1-B

Each handset is programmed or set to the matching frequency of the base phone and so if the handset does not mesh up then the intertransmitting frequency is not correct and is not locking.
Hence you need to check up with your dealership/ support center of your make to confirm and order a new one or the cost of a new cordless phone will work out cheaper which must be considered.

My cordless phone says "to register see owners manual for help" How do I get the phone working, it is a uniden DECT 6.0 Model DECT 1588-2

With the phone in standby, press MENU/SELECT on the base.
Move the cursor to select the Register Handset menu, and then press MENU/SELECT. Handset Registering will appear.
On the handset, press and hold # until the handset beeps and displays Handset Registering.
When the handset has registered to the base, the LCD will display Registration Complete then show the handset ID number.
If the display shows Registration failed, repeat the process again.
Note: If a handset has ever been registered to a base, reset the handset before you register it to a new base

Doesn´t work on mac

The logitech Download Centre doesn't provide any Mac Drivers for your device.

The best thing to do is either wait for the drivers to come out or buy another product supported by Mac

Handset not registering with base

I've repaired thousands of these kx-tga400b phones and we have the only improved keypad that eliminates the common keypad problems for good.

Does the cordless phone have a 3 in the top right corner after it registers to 3? If so, then it is registering correctly. If it THEN consistently says "invalid, please register" there is definitely a problem with the main circuit board and it's not at all common. I've seen a few of these but it's a rare problem. We can fix it but I'm not sure how much luck you would have with any other repair facilities.

If you have the problem intermittently it's probably a bad RF module. That's a much more common issue.

Handset

Presume you are talking about the extra handset. Try placing the extra handset in the "main" base for 5 seconds.
