During the installation of window xp in compaq laptop model number presario cq45 it shows dump blue screen error

We would actually need to get the exact Blue Screen Error dump.

But to set your expectations, it could be a Hard Drive problem or a Memory problem, which are both Hardware related.

The screen is blue and says beginning to dump physical memory

Windows has detected a serious programming-error, and cannot continue to run. Turn your computer off. Turn your computer on.
The next time that you connect to the Internet, Windows will send the "dump" of your computer's memory to Microsoft, so that they can trouble-shoot the cause of the problem, and try to fix it.

I keep getting a system dump/blue screen. i tried

You might have bad memory, a corrupted registry file, corrupted system files. Try starting up in Safe mode then backup your data. Goto My Computer and right click on the hard drive and select properties. Goto Tools tab and select error checking of hard disk on startup. Might need to reinstall Windows

Hi received today a refurbished compaq 5000 nx laptop when first switched on i entered my wireless code and could access the internet, then computer said critical microsoft updates needed to download, when...

The black screen means that the Operating System is obsolete. The blue screen of ***** means that the Operating System is corrupted or you have a virus. My suggestion is to buy Windows 8.1 or 10, and do a clean install. This will wipe all the corrupt files and viruses off of the computer. After you install the new Operating System let Microsoft do all the updates. And make sure automatic updates is turned on. Hope this helps
