Make sure you have power to the unit. Do you see indicator lights that show the unit is working. Speaker switch on?

On the unit, turn on iPod mode. Now press play on iPod. Then connect them together.

I'm having same problem. I don't see a switch for iHome27 speakers. iPod charges & all buttons work. I've reset both & plugged in wall cord, put in new batteries & I still have no sound coming out of my speakers. Anybody?? Earplugs work fine so it's not iPod. I see on volume 1/29 and up volume but I hear nothing????

Ihome--ih8,

I got the iH8 as a present everything works fine except for the ipod alarm. the unit will play my music when i press the play ipod button, and recognizes its plugged in, but when i set the ipod alarm, without taking out the ipod or anything, it doesnt go off with my music, it just buzzes. Idont think it is the ipod because i have updated the software on the ipod and have even tried 3 different ipods with the iH8. i have had the iH8 for about 2 weeks and set it nearly every day, and out of all those times it has gone off with my music only 3 times. How do i get it to work every time!??

Radio doesn't work on ihome ih9

Just purchased a used iH9 and I can't get any sound from the radio or ipod. I'm pretty sure I'm doing everything right and I've reset the iH9 by removing the batteries and disconnecting the power. Any suggestions?

Ihome won't play ipod, even after resetting ipod I have de same problem. I got an itouch 2nd generation and docked it on a speaker that supports it. It worked fine for two or three hours, but suddenly it...

Welcome to the wonderful world of the iHome frying the Ipod.
Your iHome, has most likely fried the mainboard on your ipod.
to check plug a usb into the ipod and connect to the computer.
if it comes up disconnect the usb and try a headphones in the jack.
if it doesn;t play sound its fried and you will need a new mainboard.
if it does play through the headphone jack, your lucky and keep it off the dock.

I have fixed at least 30 ipods taken out by ihome docks and other docks.
they are terrible for the ipod. Even Apple sells the docks on their website
that shows how much they care about the product.

Ihome won't play ipod, even after resetting ipod

When I first got my ipod touch and my ihome I had no problems and then all of a sudden everything worked except for the ihome wouldn't play music. It charged properly and the alarm and clock worked fine just the music wouldn't play. So I assumed it was the ihome and took it back and exchanged it only to get home and have the exact same problem. So I reset my Ipod and it worked. To do it you have to hold the sleep button until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across it to turn off. Press and hold the sleep button until the apple comes on. Next I sync'ed and looke dfor an update. After all this I docked it and it worked.
