Grill is 6 years old, was running great, put new gas tank on line and ran it for an hour only to get to 130 degrees

I traded my tank for another at an exchange location. The new tank somehow would not put gas out well enough. Something to do with the valve built into the tank fitting that was not being released well when I screwed my hose / regulator into it. Took it back and exchanged for another - fixed it.
Maybe you have a similar issue.

I don't think you need a new ignitor kit. The problem isn't there. It's the grill's regulator.
However, I do have some concern with the cracks inside the Hose Connect to the tank, being cracked. That should be replaced. You can pickup a new Hose/Regulator Assembly for about $30.00 any hardware store or home improvement center that sell grills and accessories. Take the old one with you for comparison purposes.

After installing the new hose. Open the Gas Valve on the tank VERY. VERY Slowly (Slow motion, slow). Doing it this way will, eliminate the problem you're having now. And always to it this way in the future.

This ma=y be a case of changes in parts for your VC Grill. The ownership of Vermont Castings changed 6 years ago, when Majestic Fireplace, who was then the owner went bankrupt and Monesson Hearth products bought VC in the bankruptcy. Shortly there after, Monesson made some sweeping changes to the grill line (your model was discontinued) and really up graded what Majestic Fireplace had done with that line of grills. Overall, they started building a better quality grill.

Unless you have a piped in high pressure propane gas system, the one that Appliance Factory Parts furnished you should work fine (based on what I saw on their website). In addition, if you purchased your grill, prior to the change in 20lb LP Gas Grill Tanks Valves, 6 years ago. Some manufacturers changed their grill hoses to conform with the new OPD Valve grill tanks. It wasn't required, they just did it, to avoid regulators locking up, when the tank valve is opened to fast.

This a common problem after they have set up over the winter. Water has probably condensated in your gas tank and now it is in the gas line. The tank should be drained of old gas and the gas line to the carb should be removed from the tank and blown out with compressed air to remove all old gas/ water. Attach the gas line back to the tank and refill the tank with new fuel. This should take care of the problem. To avoid this next time, just fill your gas tank to the top at the end of the season and leave it full through the winter.

the regulator needs adjusted to supply the needed gas. If it can't be adjusted then replace it.

this car is 10 years old, if you let it run out of gas then all the bad bits are lifted into the fuel line from the bottom of the fuel tank replace the fuel filter and hope this fixes the problem but dont let your engine run low on fuel again.adrian,,,,,,,

Try replacing the hose and regulator, easy to do and inexpensive.

It is most likely the propane regulator. If it is under a year old the company should replace it for free. (The regulator is located on the gas line and is a round metal object near the propane tank.)

It depends on how far you ran it out of fuel. If you ran it until it would not run any more and then tried to start it again several times; you may need to bleed and prime the fuel system to get it started. You start at the line coming from the tank and move toward the fuel injectors. You have to loosen a fitting and have someone pump fuel until the air bubbles stop and then tighten. A friend once worked for two hours to get his tractor started after his daughter ran it out of fuel. This is why they recommend that you do not run a fuel injected car out of fuel and if you do to turn it off as soon as it starts to miss badly.
