"I know I'm a biot late to the party here but I just worked on an M3027 with that same error. It turned out to be the scanner head lock was in the locked state. Tried unlocking with the machine still on which didn't clear the error but after a power-cycle with the head unlocked the error was cleared. Nice simple and free solution!" Did you have the code cleared after you installed the new part because the ECM cannot clear itself, even though you installed a new part and the code is still in the system? You need to have the code erased with a OBD II scanner.
you need a scanner obd 1 you could undo the battery or pull a fuse but obd2 needs a scanner too clear the codes you could go too autozone they will read the codes for you and clear them and try too sell you a part that probly wont fix it but if you clear it and its not fixed it will come back
You'll need to have a code reader or scanner with reset ability. Some auto parts stores, Auto Zone and ORieleys come to mind, will rent you a scanner or Loan you a scanner and at times will actually connect the scanner and clear it for you or at least tell you what the light is activated for for free. You could try looking it up in a Haynes repair Manual for your vehicle. On some models there are methods for reading and clearing the codes with out a Scanner tool but they are usually vehicle make and model specific.
Hello there: once the vehical is repaired simply take the vehical to your local autozone or kragen store and have them hook up the free handheld diagnostic machine and have them clear the code i do this quite often best regards michael
