ITunes to IPod

Recently I decided I wanted to get rid of a lot of songs on my Dell laptop for space reasons. Once I deleted ALL songs in the ITunes library, the next time I tried to put additional songs on the IPod, all music previously downloaded to the IPod was gone except for the few selections I had just downloaded. What did I do?? Should I have left all songs on my hard drive in the laptop?

It sounds like you have your IPOD set to automatically sync to your itunes library instead of being set to manually select the songs. If you have it set to automatically sync then anytime you plug your ipod in with itunes open then only the songs that are in your Itunes library will be on your IPOD after you disconnect it from the computer. If you would have set it to manually sync then you would have had to choose which songs to put on your IPOD and also which to take off. If you had it set to automatically sync then I am sorry to inform you, but your songs are gone from your IPOD (and if you have it set to delete the song from the computer as well as the library then the song is gone from your laptop too)

How do i delete all songs on ipod shuffle and then reload? I want to empty it and start over as if new

Generally speaking, people will clean up their iPod with iTunes to erase the old songs and add new songs. iPod users have two ways to delete music from iPod with iTunes, and they can be helpful when iPod users want to get rid of the unwanted songs. iTunes provides automatic and manual methods to help iPod users manage the songs in their devices. When you are using the automatic way to manage iPod music, every time you connect iPod to computer with USB cable, your iPod will sync with iTunes Music library. If you have your iTunes Music library organized, you can delete unwanted music from iPod with this easy method. If you want to manually edit your iPod music, you can check Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from syncing automatically in iTunes by clicking Edit > Preferences > Devices. Then you can manually sync the songs and playlists to your iPod with iTunes.

Delete songs from i pod touch 2nd generation

You must connect to the computer with iTunes. There you can select the music you want t delete.
For that wait till the iPod is backed up by iTunes, then on the left side click on the line with the name of your iPod. Then on top click on Music and then you see what music you can synchronise.
If you already did remove the original backups from the music on the iPad, there is a chance iTunes all remove all these numbers.

Apple has lots of info about every part you want to know about your iPod and iTunes.

How do i upload songs

How to Upload Songs to an iPod: (You can also find the instructions here.)

1)Download the latest version of iTunes. It is free and you can obtain it from the Apple website. It could have come with your iPod on an installation CD. Makes sure your computer meets the requirements. You can find older versions on the web, but they have limitations.
2)Scan your computer for songs to add to the library.
3)Connect your iPod to your computer with the USB cable that came with your iPod. The iPod screen should say "Do not disconnect".
4)Open iTunes. Your iPod should appear under Devices in the bar to the left.
5)Follow the instructions for naming your iPod and changing the initial settings if the iPod has not been plugged into a computer before.
6)Buy music from the iTunes music store or import songs off a CD using iTunes.
7)Decide whether you want to sync your iPod with your iTunes library or manually put songs on your iPod.
(Syncing your iPod will automatically add all of the songs in your library to your iPod. It will also delete any songs from your iPod that are not in your library. Click on your iPod icon and select Sync in the lower right corner.)
8)If you do not want all the songs in your library on your iPod, make a playlist of all the songs you do want, or decide which playlists you want to include on your iPod.
9)Click on your iPod icon.
10)On the top bar, click on the button which says "Music".
11)Make sure the box that says "Sync Music" is checked, then check the box for whether you want your iPod to sync with the entire library or selected playlists. If you click selected playlists, select the playlists you want in the playlists category. For newer iPods you can check which artists are included on your iPod to automatically import all the songs from each selected artist onto your iPod.
12)Properly disconnect your iPod using the eject button (see Warnings).
13)Listen to your new songs!

TIPS:
Set up the iPod on the computer you plan to use it on. An iPod set up with a Macintosh will need to have all the songs deleted in order to use it on a Windows operating system. This only needs to be done once if you switch computers, but just to make less hassle, try to use the iPod on only one computer.

WARNINGS:
Make sure you disconnect the iPod properly to avoid problems or loss of files on your iPod. Click the eject button next to the iPod icon in iTunes, or in the lower, right-hand corner. If you quit iTunes, drag the iPod icon on your desktop to the trash to eject (Mac). Right click on the iPod icon on your desktop on a Windows PC.

Things You'll Need:
- USB connector cable
- iTunes
- iPod
- Computer
- Music files or CD's

Hope this information helps!

Disk empty & the file cannot be created

well the first question i would ask is how you are transfering music and video to the ipod. The reason i ask is because it sounds like you are not using itunes. itunes is the only way to actually put content on any ipod. with all that said when using itunes connect the ipod witht he provided cable and push the restore button on the summary screen for the ipod which should appear in itunes when you plug in the ipod to the computer you are using. after it restores you can try adding music and a video and see what happens
